This was inspired by Adower's thread on starting to get rid of stuff.
So: guys and gals in the 50-and-up range: What things in life do you still want to do? Business, politics, something in the arts? Just plans for retirement and watching the sunset from the porch? What is it?
I'd like to hit it big with my writing. It'd be a gas to no end to see my main work made into a movie. Not holding my breath on the writing hitting it big or seeing any of my stories on the big screen; but at the same time, not stopping working on it, either.
I'd like to build a Factory Five Daytona Coupe. And make it electric. Or with a V-12. I can go either way, on that one.
I'd like to go state to state through the USA with a camera, on back roads only, and publish it as a picture book, "Take the Long Way, and Walk It."
That's the big stuff. Really? If I can work in my current job until I'm 75, I'll be happy. X-ray repair is a profession that lends itself to the older guy, as we've usually figured out how not to kill ourselves playing with ionizing radiation and high voltage. I'm having a blast in the current job, doing important stuff, and making pretty good money at it. I'd work past 75, if they'd let me, I like this job so much.
