The upside to a rotor pack swap: the case is less expensive than the entire unit. The downside(s) : Swap it out and there's no warranty for obvious reasons. Plus you can't sell your GEN I.

GEN II is $2999 with a pulley. The elbow is integrated.

Sell your original for $1500 and you have $1500 into GEN II.

Do the swap for, say, $1000 (theoretical because we don't have case pricing yet). Spend another $300 on fresh bearings and labor. You now have $1300 over the initial price and no warranty.

There has been a ton of communication with us about this. I, personally, would buy the blower and sell the old one.

Assuming you are not on the edge fuel wise, as the extra airflow could push you over, you won't need a retune at the same pulley ratio / boost level.

This makes a ton of sense, thanks for the response BJ.

Is the Gen II available now? Do you have any installed numbers on performance change.
Just finishing up LT installation and new intercooler should arrive next week. Trying to decide if a blower change is in the picture also.

Flow numbers this week. Pre-sale orders this week during Shelbyfest. Production in early June.

Subing.

Will there be other pre-order options (besides the Shelbyfest)? Waiting to see the numbers first then ready to pull the trigger.

Thanks,

Yes, as soon as the flow data is all in. It's not magic....if GEN 1 flows X and supports 800+ rwhp and GEN II flows Y, it'll be clear that the hp is going to follow the data. At that point we'll go to pre-sale. We already pre-sold a few because these folks wanted it as part of a kit. Exciting times for certain!

Top left= Trinity 13/14 Top Right= VMP TVS GEN II
Bottom= Both are VMP GEN 1 that supports over 840 rwhp.

Cheers,

Of course. Keep in mind you won't see any of the lines where we've sliced and diced this 3D Proto.

Thanks again BJ. So how does the elbow attach? Looks like RTV from the pic? I don't see any bolt mounts. Also, how does the other side of the elbow look? Is it optimized for any particular size/brand of TB?

Thanks,

Thanks,

It doesn't attach, it's cast as an integral piece of the unit.

Given the fact that 7 second Cobra Jets run nothing larger than a Super Cobra Jet mono, our size and mount points are configured for the VMP Twin Jet 67mm, or either Cobra Jet. If we find there's a reason for more, we'll make it happen.

You don't want more than you can use or driveability will suffer. We've seen that happen a number of times over the years and it's already happened with a recent debut of a 70+ mm tb.

Does the integrated elbow make it tough to attach/tighten the bolt that is underneath it? It doesn't look like there is a lot of room under there.
