I see a Strat hiding under that massive arm.

Haha! It is all about the angle and illusion. My arms are actually not big at all. It looks neat there, but nothing special about them. Unfortunately lol. They are just lean, which is weird because I m not all not lean nowadays, however arms remain lean...

Thats a 2018 Gibson Explorer I just got this past August. Always loved them. I also just got the Mesa Boogie Mark 5 90w head and 2x12 Mesa Boogie Rectifier cab. The black guitar is a 2008 Schecter Ultra Cure. I also have a Martin acoustic.

4 Pages of jibber jabber and OP is the only one with nads enough to post a video of himself playing. Da Fuq!?!?

I thought this was SVTP?
I have rarely, ever recorded any video of myself. I was going to set up my phone to snag a clip of my practice session today. I didn't even think about recording myself again until now.

I will have to dig and see what I can find with me on stage. I generally duck the cameras then too though.

@CV355 may have to catch a video the next time he sees me with a guitar or bass in my hand.

I am utterly disappointed! I thought SVTP would have some sick guitar players. Our members have hottest wives/girlfriends, biggest penises, best porn stars, best fighters, best body builders, best drivers, etc. yet no guitar players? Disappointed!

Sorry guys, I had a busy weekend. Including playing a party Friday night. I don't play live much anymore.
As far as playing, I started late, at 16 or so. Playing a little over 30 years. Completely self taught. I play by ear only. Most friends who play can't even believe how limited my knowledge is of the neck and scales and stuff.

I have some FB vids out there too but I usually don't post them. lol
Here's a few of just jamming, some practice and some live stuff from LONG ago to more recent.

Long ago, Original song.

One of my favorite solos,

A little GnR at practice for a reunion show.

A very very drunk version of War Pigs at that reunion show.

Another 20+ year old original song at that reunion show.

I have not played in years. Sold all my stuff recently. I took Jazz lessons for 8 years. My Father insisted I play a musical instrument. I never wanted to but was glad later in life that I did.

Barry, you do know scales brother. Youre playing them! When i took lessons a few years back after having been a player for 40 some years, i knew how to play, but, i wanted to learn why. All of my improvised leads were scales, i just didnt know it.

When i play leads, no matter the key, my brain highlights shapes and patterns on the neck and i instantly know where i can go. I just wanted to learn what it was my brain was seeing.

I honestly play my best when im feeling it. And when i am feeling it, my eyes are closed...and when they are closed, i can see better.

Playing guitar has been a lifelong dream of mine. Problem is, I never took time to learn. Something always came up. I just bought a new Gibson Explorer and a sick amp setup to motivate me to play. I have been playing, but its been pretty frustrating. In my mind, I can rock, but reality says otherwise. lol. Any tips?

I'd recommend a mix of of theory/scales/chords/etc along with learning songs you like to listen to. My guitar teacher was awesome with that. Spend some time on the mechanics and theory stuff and then some time learning stuff I wanted to be able to play. Too much of the book stuff makes playing a chore so you need to throw the fun parts in there too.

Keep at it! I've been playing almost 30 years and still suck more than I'd like but it's a lot of fun a a great stress relief in my book.

When I teach scales, I teach shapes. The brain simplifies what we are making out to be complicated.

I don't play anymore. Arthritis hit when I was 22, and that was a long time ago. But I do build tube amplifiers. Just finished another one tonight! Clone of a Fender Champ from 1957 with a couple of additions: added a choke, copper foil shielding throughout the chassis and separate ground buses for power section and preamp section. One knob: on/off/volume. With a Ted Weber 10" speaker, tweed finished cabinet. No effects. Only does one thing: sound awesome!

My third new build since I went legit, and I've got more orders than I can handle even for what I'm asking for these.
