Just awful......the fusion looks horrible...and anything resembling it.....well....
You sir... have horrible taste then and are clearly in the minority. The Fusion isn't rising as one of the top selling sedans every month because it's ugly.:nonono:
Heres the problem I have. The newer Taurus and Fusion's front end looked great when it first came out but its not "new" anymore and honestly using that for the front end of the new Mustang makes it look dated from the get go. Anyone else agree?

I like it a lot, but kinda ticked Ford is using the same front grille as the fusion/taurus.
Do they have a Dodge employee working for them now?
The Mustang has gotten flack in the past for being an unrefined, one-trick pony that is only marketable to Americans who like to go fast in a straight line. Ford has placed an ever-increasing emphasis on changing this line of thinking with models such as the new Boss 302 which was geared more towards road racing.
I believe Ford's line of thinking is that in having more interchangeable parts within the line-up they be able to bring even further refinement to the Mustang while keeping costs down, truly making it a "World Car" as Ford proclaimed it.
The problem I see with this front-end design is that while it isn't a bad design, it isn't instantly identifiable as a Mustang. If the Fusion, Taurus, Fiesta, and even some of the Focus models have similar front ends this car will no be instantly identifiable as a Mustang which is what Ford needs from this car, espiecially for the 50th anniversary. This is the same mistake that Chevrolet made with the rear design on the C7 in that they made it look too much like a Camaro.
I am all for moving forward with the design and refinement but the Mustang design needs to remain something special in the line up. It won't matter how well it performs if the car looks like a souped up Fusion coupe.
I completely agree. The Mustang is a special car and should not have from the rest of the current fleet. From these photos there is not enough difference in the front of the the car to tell it apart from a Fusion or a Taurus if you saw it driving toward you on the road.
When you see the current design come at you on the road you can see from a mile away that it is a Mustang. From the looks of it you'll have to wait until the 2015 passes to know that it's a Mustang and not another Ford in the fleet.
