Exhaust cutouts was an interesting project, as I didn't get as frustrated as expected. Everything was straight forward, just time consuming. Not having a plasma cutter makes this job more difficult, so you better have a good body saw, a lot of extra blades, and patience.

Here is the finished result. Had a friend TIG weld the cutout brackets to the midpipe. Then I sanded, cleaned, and painted the midpipe to stop rust. 2000*F enamel

Finally, back into the car.

Wiring is hidden in the center console, coming through the body under the car from the cutout used for the shifter. All wiring underneath the car is protected in 1/4" loom, underneath fire blankets and heat shields, and the connector is protected with heat shrink. Switch it located in the center console. I used the small punch out panel to mount it. Power for the cutouts feed from the cigarette lighter socket in the center console. Sure, it's hot no matter if the key is on of off, but it's not a problem.

Next, I moved on to reinstalling both Bob's Auto Sports oil separators. Never been a fan of breathers, since it taxes the engine lubricant, causing shorter oil change intervals.

Separators are the same powder coat color as the turbo kit, and very closely match the car. Bob's will now offer this color to all customers who want it to match their Sterling Gray Metallic Mustang.

Driver side, -10 AN straight on the top, -10 AN 45* on the bottom. Hose is longer than a standard kit, since this is a custom application.

Passenger side, dual -10 AN straight fittings. Notice there are no hose clamps. The kit includes special heat shrink wrap to replace ugly hose connectors. Bob's Auto Sports Firewall GT kit

Nice Job! Curious how long the cut outs will last before having issues. That's the only thing keeping me from installing some. I haven't seen many that last that long without having issues.

Cutouts like that are good for 3 psi on my car. Pretty cool.

That's interesting to hear. I would have expected faster spool times, not an actual increase in PSI.

That's what people keep telling me, they are going to fail. QTP says you have to keep them clean with "Liquid Wrench" spray, removing carbon deposits at least once a month. Will see how long they last for me.

I installed some cutouts a couple months ago on my CPR kit, here's a quick vid I took when I put them on.

Made a video for you all, as requested. Car was cold, so the exhaust had a good bit of condensation within. Better than talking face to face with someone who has excessive saliva.

You can hear the turbos spool when they are open. Watch the exhaust fumes "warp" the light prism.
