Hello all,

Recently I purchased the Armageddon kit for my 2014 Sterling Gray GT. It's a 6R80 auto car with stock 3.15 rear gears, Circle D 2B converter, DSS carbon fiber drive shaft, complete BMR suspension with K member and radiator support. Also have Strange single adjustable struts/shocks. New mods will include Armageddon twin GT3076R turbos, ID1000 injectors, TSS oil pump gears, Boss 302 manifold, and MSD fuel pump booster. Engine will remain stock, with the exception of oil pump gear upgrade, until next winter. Then I will install a forged roller assembly with return style fuel system.

I wanted to create this thread as a "home built" project, not professional shop. I have yet to see a thread about this kit installed at home.

Let's go ahead and throw up some teaser pics of my progress. This will have been a three week process when this phase is complete.

Powder Coating by a local in the Pensacola area (Rollin' Coatz). Color is called Kingsport Grey from Prismatic, and it closely resembles Sterling Gray. Slightly darker, however, closer than anything else I have seen.

Well would you look at that. Christmas came 1 month early this year. Sir, would you please put that down in the garage. Thank you! Two identical sized boxes, combined weight of ~150 lbs. Crikey!

I know, bare and boring. Solution was already posted above.

Made a mess of the house, better half wasn't upset by it either. I love that woman!

Boring everyday Coyote up in here. Yawn!

After removing both valve covers for TSS oil pump gear upgrade, I was humbled by how clean the engine is after 11K miles. Thank you Amsoil!

I opted for the satin kit, well....you know why.

Relocated the PCM underneath the passenger side headlight. I decided not to install the new windshield washer tank since I always kept the stock bottle empty. This is a Saturday night only driven car, with the occasional drag strip trip. It's always clean.

Relocating fuse distribution center. Bracket not installed yet.

Installed the new Boss 302 manifold and ID1000 injectors.

Relocated the ABS module with included bracket. I have to say one thing about this kit, the engineering put into all the brackets, hoses, and fittings are above and beyond. I remember when you had to build you own stuff, source your own material, to complete a kit. I've never seen any company put this much R&D into a turbo kit. This is what you get for the added $$$$.

Prepped the oil pan for welding AN10 turbo oil return connections.

Finished product with 2000*F engine enamel. It's matte, but who needs pretty on an oil pan?

Oil pump removed, some moisture contamination from the water pump housing. It's OK, I have cheap Motorcraft 5W-20 with FL500 filter ready for test start, leak detection, and short test drive. This will remove any moisture or dirt from the engine before I put Amsoil RD30 Dominator in the sump.

TSS vs. OEM oil pump gears.

Timing chains back in place, and properly timed. It's only scary the first time. I would not hesitate doing it again.

Timing cover reinstalled and torqued to spec.

I'm very much the perfectionist.

Turbo manifolds are installed, built by Kooks in 304 Stainless Steel. "Coyote" engraved in the side.

Installed the intercooler.

Did I mention I'm tired of not having a transmission dipstick? Thank you Performance Automatic for having Lokar design this for the 6R80.

Can't go without a Roush gauge pod in the air vent.

10730927_10152812037971145_6215081968646106267_n.jpg

Bought a nice Speedhut boost gauge with warning light for overboost. Since I will not have a boost controller with the stock engine, setting wastegates @ 8 PSI, I wanted something to warn me.

11/11/14 - Here was the stopping point today. Have the crank balancer, starter, and A/C compressor mounted back up also. Taking things slow, making sure I do not mess anything up.

10389512_10152824138036145_2150318006209967959_n.jpg

11/12/14 - Today, not much visual changed, as I was working on little things like new sparks plugs (NGK TR7 iridium), pulleys and belt, fuel and evap lines, etc.

The powder coating on all cold parts is beautiful. This is the passenger side cold pipe to the intercooler.

10615446_10152826104281145_2461877465212957017_n.jpg

I did install the passenger side compressor housing, and tolerances are tight. It's a well made kit.

This is a good shot

10628241_10152825778016145_1972761535798288174_n.jpg

I did get the pulley and belt reinstalled. Fuse distribution center is relocated with custom bracket. Wiring relocation is complete. Driver side turbo manifold is bitchy today, she must be "on the rag."

10268471_10152826410661145_9005971259875767177_n.jpg

Ford, it's not OK to install plastic radiator drain petcocks. They always break when removed. Glad I bought two spares just in case.

1964997_10152826573261145_7416347822080607707_n.jpg

Tomorrow I focus on evap, oil feed, water feed, and completing the passenger side downpipe.

More pics tomorrow when I have made more progress.

11/14/14 - Had to go back to move forward. Removed the compressor housing on the passenger side to make better adjustments on this kit. Installed driver side downpipes. Everything is now properly installed and tightened down. It's a learning experience, and only fits one way. Once you figure it out, you're in there. Tolerances are tight, like a condom, but it fits perfectly. In this shot, wideband sensor lines are not plugged in yet.

Had to modify the driver side downpipe bracket with a grinder. Since it's a first production run bracket, built specifically for the MT82 manual, I had to grind about 1/8" from the inside diameter for clearance. Not a problem, and easy to do, just take your time. Second production run will most likely have a bracket cut to fit both transmissions.

Don't know if I was funny, or just funny looking, because the turbo coolant line was laughing at me.

10687114_10152830820251145_4159578606671381136_n.jpg

Passenger side is almost done. Reinstalled the compressor housing.

The battery bracket with powder coating is a nice touch.

This was the stopping point yesterday. Installing water and oil lines.

15817_10152830866736145_3961048701504064773_n.jpg

Later today, finish water and oil lines, then install vacuum lines.

11/15/14 - Stopping point last night. I have some final adjustments to make and hose re-route for beauty, but things are coming together.

1609932_10152832435651145_2759544583296567372_n.jpg

11/16/14 - Things are nearing the end. All that remains is to reassemble the front end of the car, install boost gauge (which has yet to arrive), and install MSD fuel pump booster. If you look closely at this picture, you will also notice I installed the transmission dipstick tube. It's easy to check fluid level now.

10421616_10152834932966145_7863151802759974832_n.jpg

11/17/14 - Speedhut boost gauge was delivered, so I decided to install it. Not wired up yet. It does have a warning light with highest memory recall to help me with over boost prevention.

I did make an order with Summit Racing for a vacuum block with top tier hoses and fittings.

Awesomeness as always UB!

Look forward to keeping an eye on this!

Kelly,

Thank you for the BMR K member. Check out this pic. On the driver side, I was able to remove the factory header without dropping the K member or unbolting the engine mounts to jack up the engine. I will say, this isn't the case on the passenger side (HELL).

Same as you, Dominator RD30 10W-30 will be in this engine. Motorcraft 5W-20 with FL500 filter is only for the first start up, leak testing, and first driving test. After the first few miles of internal engine cleansing, I will dump it to pour in Dominator. This is assuming no leaks were found.

Got Earl?
