In my case (an 04 with ~80k miles), They started to fail intermittently. They would go out for a day or two, and then start working again. This went on for a few months, until they were 100% 'Tango Uniform'.
That was annoying, because I had no idea it was an "inverter issue". I...
Just reading this thread, having been away from SVTP for a few years. Nice to see the solid analysis and shared knowledge here.
FWIW, my Speedhut "fix" is still working find, having been installed well over 10 yrs ago.
You can probably just move the inverter from the new cluster over to your original. I just bumped my old thread on repairing the failed inverters using the Speedhut inverter. It should take just a minute to remove the back cover and swap over the inverters.
Just checking in on this topic. Our cars are all hitting ~20 yrs old now. I am very curious if anyone has recently soured a Speedhut inverter? From what I can tell, Speedhut has moved away from the "indeglow" guages for their aftermarket/hotrod gauges.
FWIS, the inverter I started this...
It would be nice to document exactly what needs repairing on the OEM inverters. There isn't really that much to those. If it was just a matter of soldering in a replacement component, we could help out a lot of people.
And as these cars get older and more scarce, there will be a movement...
Any updates on this? my original repair used the 04 version. It is still working fine, and I never noticed it being less bright than stock..
I have had a few people reach out to me to help with repairs, and I wondered if there was any other source for inverters, or even if the factory OEM...
I have a kid on CVN-76. I sure hope they straighten this sh!t out fast. prayers out to the families and the other sailors. I am sure this is taking its toll on many in the Navy family.
A friend is having a starter issue with a 2015 V6 Mustang. (3.5L ?).
Intermittent issue, typically when cold starting in the AM.
..Car will Start normally, but starter keeps trying to engage, making pretty bad noise.
I have not yet witnessed the issue first hand since it seems to happen...
I have about 19k miles on my 2016 F150 Ecoboost. I was reading about the benefits of adding an oil separator / catch can.
Please provide any feedback on good or bad options for this.
*I assume this will not void any warrantees... Right?
Anyone heard from Jamie or 'Start n charge' lately? I was supposed to send him back an alternator to repair before I moved back to FL and he does not seem to be responding to PMs or the email I have for him.
I was planning to have my stock cobra 8.8 IRS diff rebuilt due to increasing noise / whine.
Anyone in FL or S.Ga have a low mileage used one to sell, that I could just bolt in and get back up and running?
It can't be leaking, or need work. (I have one of those).
pm, or txt to...
I know there a few Military guys on here. WTF is up with all the US Military gear (Like HUMVs) being driven around by isis loosers?
Did we really leave that much gear over there?
Why wouldnt we blow that $h1t up on the way out?
Dont we at least have some sort of milspec Lojack on...
I have finally jumped onto pulling the blower and intake from my '04 cobra. The only reason I am doing this is to correct the Lean Codes that I am pretty sure are caused by the PCV leak under the manifold. (I hope this is all that wrong).
So, I am pulling it all apart slowly, following this...
I have been Hardly Driving my cobra since moving to IL, partly because of the weather, and partly because of the Bank1/2 Lean codes I am getting. I am pretty sure It the typical PVC fitting under the blower/manifold, but I just have not made the time to pull it apart to correct. Since I don't...
Just wonderring why the '03/'04 Cobra production #s I see seem to be overstated. Looking at the info I ss on Bob's site, there were 13,476 produced for '03 and 5,664 produced for the '04 model year.
On the Terminator "post your build # thread", ...
I am trying to get an '01 SC2 Registered down in Florida. The car is currently here in St Charles, IL.
The plan is to drive it down to Orlando sometime in June. I will be down in FL next week, and would really like to get the tag/registration squared away while I am there, so it can be legal...
I will try to keep this short.
My 20y old daughter works down in Orlando as a lifeguard, and sells Mary Kay cosmetics on the side (mostely to friends). Earlier this week she gets a txt from somebody in Jacksonville wanting to buy some MK products from her. Say they got her contact info from...
I did not see this posted here yet..
...Would love to buy this guy a drink! In addition to taking out 6 taliban... he probably saved the lives of several intended targets...
My '04 TR cobra has about '91k miles and has been pretty trouble free. (original owner).
Last fall, I started seeing a the charge/battery light pop on under hard accel, or sometimes when RPM were up over 4-5k. Since I was still on my original alternator, I decided it was time to swap it...
I travel a lot for work, (2-3 trips/month). I have been sticking with American lately because of my companies partnership program, but this week I was on a Delta flight, just because it worked out better.
So, I going to my seat. (Isle Seat in a row of 3). The guy in the window seat is a...
