Well, I finally got a little time to capture a video of the engine break-in. The first session was a little boring as I was tip-toeing around the track pretty slowly making sure everything was honkey-dorey.

But here is my second session before they yelled at me for 'drifting'. I said; "I'm not drifting, I'm practicing car control!". Apparently they didn't see it that way! :rollseyes

Here is the second session on some hard ass Nitto 'hockey puck' street tires I've been trying to burn up for several years. :dw:

Looks like you're using castors for the rear wheels. Better get that pup into Sears for a rear wheel alignment.

The sound alone probably scared everyone off the track:uh oh:

That car is the tits :thumbsup:

Thanks for your help on the car. I heard Marv "threw you to the wolves" on it! :dancenana:

That car is the tits :thumbsup:

You'll get no argument from me. :coolman:

I did get a chance to weigh the car and with an additional 4-6 gallons of fuel (just a guess there) it was 30 pounds lighter than before. So let's say 5 gallons @ 8# a gallon is 40# plus the 30# so it's approximately 70# lighter. (that sounds like too much but that's the best I can figure) That's an estimate. In hindsight I guess I should have gotten accurate full fuel cell weight on the car before and after, but it didn't happen! :cryying::bash:

Once I get a chance to corner weigh it that will get a better idea of the front weight savings.

:thumbsup::coolman::beer:

I think you are pretty close at 70# , mine was about the same. The front to rear percentages are around 52.3% front with 10 gallons of fuel and with my 32 gallon cell full my car actually has 50.8% rear weight . Another benefit of a new intake would be that anything would be lighter than the R piece , it weighs almost 40#.

whats up no driving impressions from the first trip back for gwen?:shrug:

Well, it's the 4th of July Holiday and we are entertaining a crapload of relatives and friends. To say that I have been busy would be an understatement?!

As far as the car goes, here are my thougths. Previously the car was pretty damn fast and it handled very well. The car was a tad on the heavy side but it did well for it's weight and drove remarkably neutral. Now, the car is quite a bit lighter and it drives even better. But...... it's quite a bit faster and the 275/40's are struggling to hold grip. That you will see in the Z06 video. If and when I ever get a chance to finish it. :rollseyes

Once I get a chance to re-counterweigh the car I hope it will even drive better. Add to that the new tune on 100 octane and I think the car will be ready to rock and roll.

Not a problem!! I got to sit in it "that makes up for everything"...lol J/K Anything to get you back on the track!! :beer:

Maybe you can get up to RA in August to see her rock and roll! Maybe I'll let you drive it for a session!?!

OK, I'm :bs: you on the driving part!!! ;-)
