I'm actually blown away by how many people buy these disposable cars. They'll be in a landfill long before any ICE car of the same year.
Totally "eco friendly" and "green".
Get the **** outta here with that horse shit.
I dont keep any vehicle over 75,000 miles. So to me, I don't care how "disposable" they are.

I could give two shits less about "green". This car just makes a better daily. Not hard to understand

My car has appreciated since buying it, and will likely still be worth more than my original purchase price when I sell it at 60k miles

We tried electric cars about 100 years ago. It didn't work out then either.
Yeah you are correct. They were awful. And most EVs today are still awful honestly

Do you think its possible that the technology has advanced?

how did you originally repair it (that it failed)?
My mechanic rebuilt the lower with the mcmaster-carr bushings. I forget if it was with 75-80 durometer.

It lasted one season. Unsure as to the reason they failed. I did just before however change my alternator and used finally a larger alt pulley. When I finished the alt swap the only belt that fit was definitely "tight"

I think possible that I had it too tight and it "popped" the bushings out. Once one did, the other two failed because of the added load.

I know most don't have an issue with the rebuild, but I did. New Metco 0 arrived today actually

No.
****ing.
Way.
Really? Well its true. Both good and bad

Well I paid 49k and there are lots of examples online of cars going for 46-49k with 20k miles. Many Model S Plaids are selling USED for 20k over selling price (every tesla is sold at msrp, never over). Inflation and demand will only continue to drive the pricing up. Tesla has bumped the pricing by 2k since I bought

There are currently months and months long wait for these cars. Hertz I think just bought 200k of them.

Gas pricing will likely continue to rise well into the 5-6 range this summer and the demand will even be higher. This is obviously very bad for economy and small business. But it the realities we are given

CLIFFS:

-OP creates thread in hopes for video clicks (nope)

-admittedly puts on flame suit because he knows what's coming

-doesn't understand why people are flaming him.

Never posted for clicks. You can either believe me, or don't.

I knew it get spicy in here. That's half the fun.

You guys essentially sound like a bunch of guys with Muzzleloaders refusing to adopt to the new Semi automatic firearms. Its honestly pretty funny

Think roller coasters.

Sure, steel coasters are faster, quieter, and smoother.

However, to me, steel coasters do not have the personality that wooden coasters have.

Wooden coasters have a smell to them that excites me, the are louder, they beat the hell out of you.

Look up videos about the last car of the Jack Rabbit located at Kennywood Park.

EVs are steel coasters. ICE is wooden coasters.

Really good analogy honestly I'm going to keep that one in mind.

Honestly really surprised just how accurate that is.

Thanks

It’s kind of like awd being more prevalent in quick cars. I remember a 12 sec fox body would be wild on the street. Now that in a nice awd German car… meh.

Absolutely. Any mandate is bad. Period.

The banning of ICE is BAD. Period. I researched the list of countries banning ICE by 2030/2035/2040 and its longer than you might think.
They’re just replacing one form of emissions with another. A good portion of the grid still runs on fossil fuels and a few extra Chinese solar panels isn’t going to offset this.

Great analogy. Another one that comes to mind are the new dual-clutch automatics (GT-500 and C8 Vette) vs. old school manuals. Even if the GT-500/C8 Vette dual-clutch autos are quicker and faster, there are still those who just want/must have a manual. The thrill of manually rowing gears is fun and the driver feels more connected to the car. EVs are dual-clutch autos. ICE is a 6-speed manual.
