I have a voltage gauge at idle it’s around 13.6 kmj. Hopefully it holds up
I need that tankI just happened to have some 1/0 wire laying around from a previous project. I went a little longer this time for more clearance. And I finally picked up the hydraulic crimper I've been wanting. It's up and running once again.
I actually looked at selling it a couple years ago, but decided I like it better than what's out there.I need that tank
Just did this as well. Does your fuel guage work properly? Mine seems to be off by 1/4+ tank.Installed some new 465 pumps and socks. One of the socks looks like it was folded over, probably not helping my situation. Have to do some logs now when the rain stops to make sure I’m not dropping pressure anymore.

When I pumped out the tank with the old pumps, I ran it til the pumps started to sound different and stopped. Needle was just outside the red on the gauge. I’d say less than 1/8 of a tank. I’d never run it that low while driving. After seeing how little fuel was still in the tank, I wouldn’t go below 1/4 tank safely.Just did this as well. Does your fuel guage work properly? Yeah mine is way off. I’m not sure why either. Wonder if my float is catching on something. I made sure it wasn’t snagging on anything…glad yours is working! When I pumped out the tank with the old pumps, I ran it til the pumps started to sound different and stopped. When I first did my fuel system, I broke the wire off the sending unit. I opened it up and re soldered the connection. The unit itself is pretty simple. Just has a sliding contact inside that reads fuel level based on the float.Yeah mine is way off. I’m not sure why either. Wonder if my float is catching on something. You’re the man. I’ll get to it eventually. I go buy the trip mileage now. I see 80 miles and I’m headed to the station lol 11.1 mpgs in this bad boy. When I first did my fuel system, I broke the wire off the sending unit. I opened it up and re soldered the connection. I’d remove the hat from the tank. Install the float, make sure it’s not catching on the socks or wires. Remove power to the pumps. (Pull fuse, relay, etc.) manually move the float. Turn the key to run and check the gauge. There is a slight delay but just check it that it is reading. Go full range of motion, full and empty. It should work. Check the float arm is not bent. Some people rip them out if the tank still attached to the hat and bend them. I lift the hat just enough so so can pop the lever out and remove it, then pull the hat the rest of the way out.
When I install my hat, I do the same procedure. I lift the arm and make sure it is outside the tank baffle too before lowering the hat into place. The only other thing to check would be the height of the pumps. I install mine as high as possible in the hat.
Congratulations, Tim! And I see that your '03 Cobra is looking better than ever. Do you drive it much?Been busy...hello Terminator owners!! I recently picked up a 93 Cobra
