After a year and a half and no signs of the machine shop starting on my motor I went and got all my stuff. I am going to attempt my first engine build by myself. Judging by the videos I’ve watched it doesn’t look overly complicated. To get my car back on the road while I do the motor, I bought a long block from blu auto parts to drop in. Fingers crossed it runs as good as he said it did!
Times are tough, before money was a problem, now you could have all the money and mofos are just lazy or don't give AF. Goodluck with the build

Well I’ll be honest boys. I was on the back burner gonna let my black coupe go to a new home while I arrange for some new things to come my way. However after repeated $20k offers “cash” for it. No longer gonna happen. So today I’m getting a bigger upper pulley since I have a chip for the whipple and such. I’ll be installing that soon, with all my parts I’ve collected. Will take photos and update you boys along the way.

How many miles on it, Dan? I thought I was reading a post from 10 years ago when I read "repeated $20K offers". Looking forward to seeing those photos and updates. (y)

72k miles now. I’ll make a thread on the progress if I can find the time, otherwise I’ll update here!

Those look great. I ordered the exact same set, had to send them back. The fronts didn’t clear my Wilwoods. Would have looked good on my black car.

Are your wilwoods 6 piston? I’m guessing the Baer 6 piston won’t clear these then? Might just stick with the new red cobra painted caliper for now

So for instance I want to show you guys what I’ve been dealing with. This “Plot” of land is at the end of my road. I thought, hmm a vacant lot. I can buy this and build my shop on it. Instead of paying $1,650 a month to rent a shop I can build one as a mortgage type of deal. This is what I can get for $200k..

Looks like a residential area. Would you be ok building just a garage on the plot?

Yea, six piston. That’s why I made reference so someone else might be spared the hassle. I suppose i could put a sparer on, I don’t want to go that route though. The price point is spot on for those Cosmis wheels though.

That's very tempting. How much land is it? I do like that my shop is in a commercial area. I don't have to worry about making too much noise.

.29 Acres lol. Not a lot of land at all, that’s the issue. Cant even build the 40x50 I want.

Put the new steering wheel on, Hilton boost overlay and new lens on gauges, new Griptec 3.00 pulley. And all the parts came to do the cobra engineering cross over delete. The silicone shit that came with the whipple is splitting and leaking at the heads. I’ll do the crossover delete next week.

Dang. It's all about location. We paid 148,000 for our 30x60 shop and we felt that was high. That was before COVID went really stupid. But not by far. It probably would have gone 15-20k higher during those crazy times.
