Glad he was able to kick it. The downward spiral for me is that if I drink I chain smoke. So i’d have to quit drinking to quit smoking.

When I was taking painkillers for my neck it made me want to dip like crazy. I could easily get through a can and a half in a day, but when I came off the painkillers and was feeling kind of shitty from withdrawls I couldn't stand having a dip in. It didnt feel natural for me at all like it normally does.

Painkillers are in a league of their own though. It's not an addiction that keeps you wanting, it is the unwillingness to feel like shit for a week at a time, and just taking one more makes it all go away just like that.

Nicotine is mine. I can go a couple days without it, no big deal. But the moment I choose to quit...I can’t go more than a few hours without a feeling like my chest is caving in and the world closing in around me. Makes zero ****ing sense.

Glad to see you still with us. I was worried the Raptor forum kidnapped you

Smoking weed. I don’t know if I’m necessaily addicted to weed but I get ton of enjoyment out of the whole process. Breaking the weed down, smelling it, rolling the joint and then just watching the smoke.

I LOLd.

I tend to over do everything and anything. At 175lbs I can put away a fifth of vodka in a night. Buying shit for the cobra gets out of hand. Smoking is getting out of hand. Watching porn for a couple of hours and jerking off twice a day everyday, with a beautiful fiancee. I wanna have sex every 2 minutes. At work when OT is available, I work 70 hours of OT a week. Then I realize have habit issues and decide not to do shit and just watch tv. Then all I do is binge watch all day, all week. SVTP became a problem since I was on it at home, at work, while driving, while pumping gas etc. Decided to seek professional help, but seems nobody can pin point the issue. I wish my shrink would tell me I am depressed, but they say I am not depressed. Sometimes I wanna lock myself in a container and swallow the key.

I’m sorry man. I have many friends who I’d say are addicted to sex. It’s all they can think about! It’s really damaging to their day to day lives and families.

I have to imagine that is one tough addiction to kick.

My mom is terribke at this and its why we don't speak.

When I was young it was drugs. But she gets addicted to 1 thing and it becomes the focus of her waking time for a period until something else catches her. Even to the point where she'll get addicted to a food and only eat it for days at a time.

Her phone is real bad. Shes on it so much she has to plug it in 24/7 to keep it alive. I bet its on 10+ hours a day to the point where she won't get out of her pajamas to do anything because shes to into her phone.

My mom too. Literally addicted to her phone.

Quiting cigarettes is eazy, I have done it every few months for years.

Ha!!

My Dad was a 30 year smoker. One winter he came down with the flu and pneumonia. He was in the hospital for a few days and literally felt like crap. When you are that ill you don't feel the need for a smoke so his illness actually masked his nicotine withdrawal symptoms. Anyway, when he got back to full health he said screw it. I'm not starting smoking again. And he never did.

My dad was a career smoker too. After a stroke he slowed it down but still couldn’t kick it cold turkey.

Cost him his life in the form of a massive heart attack at the early age of 63 about 5 years after the stroke. Sad!

I was born in 48 and the problem with that is the end is closing in fast. Its been a hell of a ride but most of my old pals are taking the dirt nap by now.

Forgot to mention mine... caffeine for sure.

Couple cups of coffee every day along with at least 1 Monster... maybe 2. I have gone weeks without Monster when I get on a Keto diet kick, so I guess I’m not really addicted. Just like the taste.

I don’t have much of an addictive personality so thank God for that.

Wife would say I’m addicted to SVTP for sure.

Noticed the same with dipping; didn't want to when sick.

I've been dipping almost 25yrs. I've quit a couple times for up to a year. Been nicotine free for at least three months now or something. Was a can a day at least. I really do feel better.

It's been 14 years for me now. I have managed to quit for a few months at a time and even over a year but I always end up doing it again at some point.

for me Smoking a pack a day for 10 years, caffeine I start the day with a 20oz Red Bull or full throttle and have 10 or so cups of coffee throughout the day. Maybe drinking I probably have 4-5 beers on weeknights and drink a lot harder on the weekends. Coming from drinking a fifth of crown a night every night id say I’ve improved on that though

From a fifth to 4 or 5 drinks you have done well. I've been doing a lot of research on alcohol and how it affects your body and it's amazing how much it can actually affect you if you drink heavily. Higher cholesterol and blood pressure, heart problems, several different types of cancer. If I drink on too many successive nights I get run down, have chest and liver pains. I noticed today when I was at the gym that my routine was way more vigorous than it was yesterday since I had not imbibed the previous night. I like the taste of alcohol, I like the feeling, but it's not the right thing to do every night. A lot of research I've seen has said that even cutting down from 7 days a week to 4 or 5 can have positive effects on your health.
