Hey just looking at the kit it looks alot like my old PTS kit. I know you said you got it off ebay. I would bet money that if you had used a D&D k member it would of fit. Thats what they require. Also you were askin about makin the turbo fit with the fan. get some small thin fans and mount them as pusher fans on the front of the ac condensor that will give you alot of room.

I would not recomend cutting the flex out of the exhaust system. If you weld a piece of straight pipe in there it will cause the hot side to crack as stainless heats and cools it moves alot. Just make sure it is a quality flex joint.

Also if you have the headers back off and they are one piece flanges i would cut the flanges between the 2nd and 3rd runner turning them into 2 piece flanges. When they heat cycle they are probally going to crack at the collector.

i decided to keep the flex pipe. i spoke to a few experience turbo builders and they all agreed with keeping if to release streess from the manifolds and hot side. they mentioned that extreme heat and vibration from a stiff kit will snap in the weakest point. collectors or turbo flange. they also mentioned that in case they would fail 90% of the time the blow out not into the turbo. before they shread causing damage to anything else i would notice the tremendous amount of exhaust leak. i guess i will learn from experience in case they do fail.

the downpipe is done. i went 3" to be able to sneak it tru the K member the oil lines are in. im finishin the coolant rerouting sytem. i blocked off the drivers side coolant cross over pipe outlet and the lower inlet.

i went with a big pusher fan from summit. that is all squared out

my current set backs are:

coolant reservoir that will actually fit somewhere in the engine bay

positioning the air intake temp sensor 2 and re wiring it

and finding a air intake that will fit in such a tight space

any inquierys are welcome. i should be able to have it all tight up by friday ill keep u updated. here are more pics from the updates

just put the filter on the end of the turbo. And put the coolant tank back it the stock spot.

yeah the problem is finding a 6" inlet mounth filter that is also no more than 4" in lenght.:rolling: if i at least can find a 5" mushroom filter i can sneak it in the surge funnel and will stay in place. but where i can i finding it? im calling HKS tomorrow morning.

the stock coolant reservoir does not fit. the PS tank and bracket took half the place of it. plus the lowest part of the tank sits to close to the down pipe for my taste. i got around a BMW M3 coolant tank i just have to fabricate a bracket to hold it. im hopefull that will fit right in place.:read:

not sure I totally agree with stuff breaking if you removed the flex hose. however, with the way that kit is designed, you probably need it. There are so many hellion kits and many other kits out there with no flex pipe and they are not having problems.

And I will call BS on nothing happening to the turbo if the inside of the flex starts coming apart. there was a thread a while ago on the other site that it happened and took his turbo out. I mean, just look a the design of the kit, it goes from the header to the flex pipe and then turbo. once the flex comes apart, which I hope it doesn't, the next thing in line is the turbo. where else will it go?

looks like it is coming along nicely.

I would not concern yourself over the flex... I have never personally seen a failure, and most of the ones you will purchase now days, are NOT inner lined with braid, but rather an inner steel flex shell. Just keep your EGT's ( tune) with in reason, and backpressure should not be an issue in your case, so you should be good to go.

Any pics of the underside with the down pipe? Also how are the stock camber/caster plates treating you with the coil overs? Have you got the car aligned yet?
