Yes it is the King of the track in its class, and alot of people do top speed runs in their cars.Thats why they have places like the Texas mile, and places like that.?
The car was optimized for track duty and not to simply hit a top speed figure that nobody would ever see. I have no issue with that.
you should check out some of those videos at the Texas mile.Ive never seen anyone in a street car do a top speed run, ever.
I suppose it would be quite a rush, but seems kind of dumb really, because top speed is dictated by so many things and not simply outright power and torque.

Yep,i luv the 331s in my car!!Stock king of speed for the SHELBYs are the 13-14!!and yet so many complained about the gearing of the 13/14 to get to 200mph
and yet so many complained about the gearing of the 13/14 to get to 200mph
So you're upset about 180mph as top speed in the GT-500? 99.9% of all 2020-2021 GT-500s have no issue with 180. You're talking about less than 1%. If owned a new GT-500 I'd be just fine with 180.
Its one of the first things people change because 3.31s are dumb in that car.

I never said i was upset about it on here anywhere. It is a track car,and for its weight a dam good track car.So you're upset about 180mph as top speed in the GT-500? 99% of all 2020-2021 GT-500s have no issue with 180. you do understand that the 13-14 GT500 was made for top speed dont you?The new gt500 was made to make a statement on the track and it did. He's clinging to the only thing the 13/14's have over the 20's performance wise

Many here are well versed on the Texas Mile, etc. Van has been breaking records there for years now.Yes it is the King of the track in its class, and alot of people do top speed runs in their cars.Thats why they have places like the Texas mile, and places like that.

Not practical at all given nobody here in the US was able to do it with a stock '13/'14 and that Ford could only get it done at the Nardo ring in Southern Italy.I fully understand the 13/14's were all about top speed, but that's not really a practical measure of anything since the 13/14's in factory form need 3 miles to hit that top speed.
