Looks good! Is as "simple" as it looks?

Thanks man. I went to home depot and bought some sheet metal. With a sharpie I eye balled a shape of what I thought would work (as you can see in the pics). I used a grinder wheel on my air compressor to cut it out. After both were cut I took a dremel attached to the air compressor and smooth the pieces out. Took the shifter handle and drew where the holes would be. Drilled them with a drill bit. Went to home depot with the bolts that held my shifter handle to the shifter and bought 2 more. Luckily for me, everything worked perfect on my first try. It was over xmas break so I had some spare time on my hands, but it was pretty easy. I'd take 3-4/10. As long as you have the simple tools necessary that I stated.

Why not do what I did , take the shifter out , put it in a vice and heat it red with a torch where it bends at the top. Straighten it out until its almost straight . I also bent mine so it would be toward the driver a little more. Repaint install and done . I love this mod it makes it feel like an ole muscle car ll

im considering selling my mgw for a pro 5.0 to do this. i hate where the shifter sits and that i have to move the seat forward to reach the shifter comfortably.

I had a MGW before the pro 5.0 and with the pro 5.0 and the handle mod there is no comparison between the two IMO. Pro 5.0 ftw

Hurst handle bolted to a Steeda Tri-ax base. Brings the shifter ball up and back. Its nice and close to the steering wheel, and I no longer have to do the short-guy "5.0 lean" just to drive it. Makes for quick shifts when hitting the corners, hand falls right to it from the steering wheel.

so the blue is longer than the orange? if so, im going to switch them out.
i dont see it on their website. is yours just a shifter arm that bolts to the stock piece?

I dont know exactly how it compares to the orange complete shifter, but the arm I got is designed to bolt to the stock shifter. It leans forward a bit more, but the rod is adjustable. It pivots at an angle, so you can turn it toward the driver more, and it comes out a little bit too. I'm 5'7", and its pretty comfortable now!

Off topic, but where did you guys get the trim rings for your cupholders and shifter boots? It is a nice touch!

There was a guy selling ones out of billet aluminum on here awhile ago. Moved the shifter closer and over and inch back.

Best idea ever.

To work with the mgw orange the plate would have to completely redesigned.

Wow, you are right! What kit (or combination of kits) would I need to make the shifter come up and back significantly? I don't care about $$$ as long as it is right...any ideas?

I couldn't find anything that was comfortable and worked good for me on track days. I ended up making my own.
