DEARBORN, Mich., June 19, 2019 – Venomous strike: The all-new 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 will produce 760 horsepower and 625 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful street-legal Ford ever – with the most power- and torque-dense supercharged production V8 engine in the world.

Enough said.

Zero chance it'll be in that range. Just look at all the hardware added over the GT350.

The DCT will be like a 100hp advantage over a similar powered manual car, which should do a good job of hiding it's weight.
The GT350R weighs around 3650-3700 pounds. The TR3160 in the GT350R weighs 112 pounds. The DCT in the GT500 weighs 198 pounds. That is a weight increase of 86 pounds. This could be offset by further weight reduction in the GT500. Of course, the supercharger and all the supporting hardware will add weight but I still don't see it being well over 4000 pounds. One of the goals for the GT350 and GT programs was to ensure the weight gain is minimized. I don't see Ford making this a heavy porker.

There is a possibility the CFTP might slip under 4000 but the base is probably over.

Great HP number! Torque is not quite what I was hoping for... it means the car will need more revs to make its power... curious how bad the weight will be...

The numbers are good. Remember, this car is MEANT TO TURN as well. So the TQ numbers are good for that as well. To much TQ and you have issues putting it to the ground. The DCT in these cars are still the drk horse. How will it perform, how much abuse can it take ?

Overall I am please with the numbers. I'm guessing the CF package will slip under 4k with the base being slightly over 4k. Which really works out well. Most who buy the base will be in for the 1/4 and will work the car for it. The track rats will have the other package and will set themselves for it.

It's going to get real interesting real fast.

More HP than I expected. It should be very close to Hellcat Redeye performance numbers. People need to stop comparing Demon, it was a 2018 model that is no longer in production. Challenger Redeye is the new benchmark.

I just hope the thermal management system is up to task and this thing can take typical track abuse in warm weather without going into limp dick mode. I'd rather the horsepower number was lower and the torque number was higher.

So will FR have a Power Pack or TracKey ready to go or will they mimic the lame effort they had with the 5.2FPC and at most offer a 2k+ Borla exhaust, oil separators, and some stickers?
