DEARBORN, Mich., June 19, 2019 – Venomous strike: The all-new 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 will produce 760 horsepower and 625 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful street-legal Ford ever – with the most power- and torque-dense supercharged production V8 engine in the world.

Enough said.

Cranks out more HP than any other production V8.

Hahahahahaha. Please tell me that article is a spoof. If not, MSM has started writing automotive journalism. That is fake all day long.

Yeah..I think they forgot about the Hellcat Redeye or the Demon. They maybe splitting hairs a bit and since no other 2020 models have come out with numbers (that I know of) trying to get the jump on stating that as fact. Who knows!

Straight copy and paste:

"That means this supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 cranks out more horsepower and torque per liter than any other production V-8."

The Redeye and Demon have more liters. well an extra Liter.

Happy with the horsepower but concerned about the torque. It’s less than the ZL1 Camaro, Hellcat and even the 13-14 GT500. The rumors the DCT is already at its limit might be true...

Solid. Will Run 10's and be on the bumper of a ZR1 on a road course. Win.

Stock for stock, I would not bet on that. Your talking a 5 hp difference and 90 ft lbs of torque difference. Not to mention the ZR1 is way more aero dynamic and definitetly will weigh less than the GT500. Carbon ceramic brakes vs steel rotors means around the track you begin to experience brake fade whereas the ZR1 will not. It will be a great car, but the ZR1 is on a whole other level and not even in the same class.
