Lol at an sn95 out handling a Z.
I actually just got my dad into an 07 m6 (rev up)Enthusiast vert. It's such a fun car to whip around in and the handling is fantastic. They have a very unique look to them
With the top down and the molded speedster tonnau cover, roll hoops and wind deflector.
Is it the fastest? No, but 300hp it still gets the job done, at about 10mph faster in the 1/4 than a sn95 anyhing. They are geared short and the rack is fast and tight. Just a really nice driver's car/cruiser.
I've owned an NA Miata he loved, but it was a little small for him, especially in and out. We also drove an AP2 s2k around, and put him in my c5.
His last toy I put together was a new edge vert with a few bolt ons, gears, and some light suspension. It's like a sloppy fart vs the Z. He loves the refinement and how it actually feels like a sports car.
To me, the Z is the perfect mesh of a Miata and a Mustang. Little bigger, but still tossable and a great go kart feeling.
I too actually prefer the Miata. No, they won't win any drag races, but I never used the brakes much either. The best way to describe them is going to ride go-karts with your friends. You ride them because they are fun and you can sling them around the turns and they feel so precise. Momentum is key and you don't care once you are at speed. I've ran down an M3 in mine through a hard off ramp into some twisties. 2380lbs doesn't let mass effect it as much when you change directions. They just stick, and it was dead stock with some tires and GR2 shocks. Very rewarding cars to drive quickly. I want another for sure.
Sorry to be longwinded OP. Have a blast with it! Turbo seems fun but not too sure I'd want to have to work on it with even more junk crammed in there.
