I use the laser cut Weather Techs.. I like how they fit perfectly.
I used to be only weather techs. Got some Husky xact (I think). Gotta admit I like them better than the weather techs. A little softer rubber/plastic. I think they may be laser cut as well.

I am good with that and who knows about the consumer demand after 2028?

You can't sell cars that consumers will not pay $60K-$75K+ for.

Ford should offer EV, hybrid, and ICE and let the buyer determine the car.

The government could just outlaw all private jet travel and get a better clean energy result.

There's more pollution from tires than ICE exhaust these days. And tires wear faster on EVs. This is not considering synth-fuel, which has far less emissions and can be readily blended for cost effective liquid fuel replacement.

Just wanted to thank Nick for hooking me up once again. There'll be a 2024 Bronco Raptor headed down the line in mid May with my name on it. Can't wait to fly out to MO to pick it up!
What color did you get?

Well, the choices were:

- Shadow Black
- Oxford White
- Cactus Gray
- Iconic Silver Metallic
- Hot Pepper Red Metallic
- Velocity Blue Metallic
- Azure Gray Metallic
- Shelter Green

I had a limited time frame to report to Nick what my choices were as in, he contacted me about the deal and I needed to decide that evening as the order was going in ASAP. I ended up with a reasoned rationale and a color choice...Iconic Silver with painted flares and the marine grade Black Onyx interior.

CLEANED Preview Order 1812 - E0R - TOBINS RAPTOR 4 DOOR.jpg

I had a reservation for a Bronco from when they were first available. After over two years I ended up giving the reservation to a customer of Nick's. I then tried to work out a Braptor deal with Nick but Ford yanked the allocation and got Nick a number of trucks instead. I had kind of given up and shifted my interest towards a 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and gave my local Toyota dealership a $500 deposit. It has been near a year and you still can't order that specific truck (hybrid powertrain is very late availability). I recently considered another Braptor deal through Nick on one that had been built but just couldn't do the green/orange color combination. I asked Nick if he would keep me in mind if another opportunity arose and he said sure. My expectations were fairly low that it would happen but I figured it never hurts to ask.

Well, it happened. Nick got ahold of me a few days ago on a deal Ford offered him but I had to decide quickly if I wanted it and if so he needed order choices as soon I as I could get them to him. I talked to a couple people that had Broncos about their input and got back to Nick.

I had a VIN the next day. That meant I could track. Holy cow, it was scheduled in one day as well. Note - the "ordered on" date shown below isn't me but the scheduled date is.

Plan is to fly to Missouri when she comes in. From there I'll drive to see my good friend George in Augusta and then after that visit, drive home to anti-2A NY. The amount of dropped panties along the way could create a hazard in my wake but I'm ok with that.

I cannot wait and haven't been this excited a bout a new vehicle purchase since I got my 2020 GT500 (again, from Nick!).

I had a raptor on order as well that never came to fruition. Got tired of waiting and bought a 23 Wildtrak off the lot. Probably for the best the Raptor never came in, My Wildtrak is tight enough (width) in the garage.

My reservation was for a Wildtrak. I did grab a measuring tape to make sure I'd clear the garage door. Raptor should be fine but it will be tight!

Still a good selection of Darkhorse around me, little surprised at that, even 3k under MSRP.

You'll love it. Feel free to stop by the beach on your way north.

Nick hooked up one of my neighbors with an Explorer ST. He paid for it and it was delivered to his driveway 2 days later. Then his wife curbed one of the wheels 3 days later....

Are you really surprised?

I think it's a total flop honestly.

The front facia looks like trash.

Ford practically stole the rear quarter panels from the Camaro.

The tablet style digital dash looks like crap and screams we gave up figuring out anything that flows nicely with the rest of the interior.

Then to top it all off you can't tune it unless you kiss the Ford ring.

Now nobody can produce a non CARB legal tune or supercharger because that's one of the stipulations when gaining access to the PCM. And what does that do? Drive up costs so now only big companies with enough capital to go through that process can do it.

Looks are always subjective; I happen to like it and the dash doesn't bother me on the Mustang or my M4. The bottom line is that pickings for V-8 cars are getting slimmer and slimmer and it is the top dog in the lineup. That said, the economy is getting tight, so that may be part of it.

The EPA intends to drive tuners and the hardware makers needed out of business and has made that crystal clear. If the tuner is foreign based, they go after the shops. This reality won't change until political push back forces it. Sadly, I don't think it will happen anytime soon.

I went into a local dealership to see what all the Dark Horse fuss was about.

Other than a quite elderly couple checking out a small SUV I was the only customer. I walked around the DH for a few minutes and headed for the exit.

A sales guy with zero interest earlier sprints towards me. He's a weird lookin' dude, around 30ish with Grey dyed hair and a man-bun. He calls out in some kind of east European accent, "You like dark whores? You like dark whooorres?"

He's like some kind of Mexican beach panhandler repeating his line over and over.

I glance at the old couple hoping for support or at least sympathy. The old guy is smiling and nodding decisively. Like, "Of course. Who doesn't like dark whores?"

His wife is glaring at me like I'm some kind of sick pervert.

Anyway, I didn't even notice the Camaro rear fenders.

I have been eyeing the Frontier Pro X in boulder pearl grey. I will probably go that route if my b2300 dies sooner rather than later. I want LED's and that specific color. And if I'm spending that much, I will spend a little more and get the tech/comfort options. I see them for 39k and up here.

Ill keep saving in the mean time so the note won't be as bad.

I would buy the new Dark House except that is it slower than my 2019 Mustang GT350.

I hope Nick will enter my name in what will be the fastest S550/S650 Mustang ever made to date. They call it the S650X so far. It will be the fastest in the non-blower track ready Mustang ever made.

My ownership of a Mustang stops immediately when the car is not an ICE-powered car. Why would anyone pay a premium for a boring EV car?

My parents rented a couple of vans from a local Ford dealer to use on vacation. Is it normal for the dealers to rent cars out like that? I'd never heard of it.
They told my step-dad that they had a bunch of them rented out.

I've heard of dealerships loaning them out to customers getting vehicle service, but not renting them out for vacation purposes. If it's a new vehicle, especially. Vehicles that already have some mileage (classifying them as "used"), I guess I could see that.

My local Hyundai and Chevy dealerships have tons of vehicles on their lots, even parking them on the grass adjacent to the road. Seems more packed than I remember as normal. I went to a Ford dealership late last week and there was a good amount of stock outside on their parking lot, but I was the only person in the showroom for the 30-45 minutes that I was there. My wife and I sold her Acura TLX back to the dealership on Friday, and it was crickets there, too.

Honda brand here. My dealer has roughly 100 rental cars in our fleet. All are sent from pdi to rental so they are all brand new when they start. Usually flip them back to used inventory after 5-10k miles. We have all the different models and trim levels that Honda makes so it’s a good opportunity to rent one for a day or 2 before buying if you are on the fence about what you want. Also works out if your car is in service we can offer a rental you are already familiar with, some people like that better.

We rent as just a regular rental like going on vacation or if your car is in service you can rent at a discounted rate. Either way our rates are considerably lower than trying to get a car from enterprise or something

Same scenario is available here locally from a Toyota dealer. We’ve rented several cars for longer road trips. It’s great.

Just noticed the "deals" Ford is giving out with the EV cars.

1-3k cashback + 0% finance for 72 months loll on top of some dealers selling under MSRP. I remember during COVID season, it was impossible to find one without at least a 5k mark up, much less selling at MSRP

Even at those 'deals' they aren't moving.
