The fit and finish is very good and they needed very little adjustment to get the gaps right. I had to have a shim machined to space the striker but that was it.
I am going to use the CJ mirror delete trim pieces and mount race mirrors from the cage

Good to hear!

How heavy are the OEM mirrors?

The race season starts next month , but our local track has a race this weekend and I might run the Boss or use it as a test for the R model.

Last night, we finally got the Full Tilt Boogie Racing 13" prototype S-197 rear brake conversion kit mocked up on my Boss 302S. I know, it's been a ridiculously long wait! :rollseyes

This kit is a straight bolt-on affair and no opening of the differential or removing the axles is required.

Here's what the kit consists of. Two 13" floating rotors with aluminum hard anodized hats, clear zinc plated, directionally vaned and directionally slotted rotor rings, two yellow zinc plated caliper relocation brackets and attaching hardware:

Here is the caliper relocating bracket mounted to the caliper bracket with the low socket head screws and showing the clearancing required to the OEM caliper brackets:

Here's a close-up of the grinding/sanding required to the OEM caliper bracket making clearance for the caliper bracket attaching bolts:

Here is the weight of the rotor assembly showing a total REDUCTION of almost 3# of rotating mass and unsprung weight for a pair of rotors:

Just for reference, here's the OEM rotor weight:

Here is the assembly mounted on the car with the rotor:

I'm heading to Auto-Bahn Country Club in Joliet, IL with the Northwood's Shelby Club next weekend for a little R&D. We hope to have these available in the very near future and hope the have the price below $1k. Stay tuned.

The 13" rear brake conversion test went very well at Auto-Bahn Country Club a couple of weeks ago. The rear end of the car felt a lot more stable under hard braking and I can actually feel more rear braking being done in the rear of the car.

At the end of July I will be at Road America with the Northwood's Shelby Club and that should be the final test before we go into production with these.

You guys doing anything lately? Need more 302S porn! I'm actually surprised there's no talk of the World Challenge BS that's being handed down to the BOSS teams, although there's plenty of talk of it elsewhere.

FTB 2 piece rotors FTMFW! A set of 4 are on my "add lightness" list:rolling:

Even though the S-197 front and rear floating sets of rotors are not yet on our site, they will be available very shortly. Shoot me a PM or send an inquiry to:

It's been a crazy busy Summer for me. We sold our home where we lived for 22 years and moved into a condo. So you can imagine how busy I've been.:rollseyes My Boss has only been out twice this year and may only do one more event.

The 13" rear brake upgrade testing has gone very well and I'm very happy with the results. One thing S-197 vehicle owners need to be aware of is the fact that even though you have monster 14" Brembo front brakes, you have the same rear brakes that are included on the 2011 and up V-6 Mustangs! :fart: You guys need more rear brakes! No question. :)

Mark,

So sorry about your accident. I really enjoyed the video up until you ended up in the wall. You was driving great. Hope to see you on track sometime soon down Texas way.
