Man I was lucky, was able to check out my Cobra 5 minutes from my house, then only had to drive 20 minutes to pick it up. I've driven some distance to buy other type of cars though. Worst is driving 8 hours one way, only to find out car was not as described, and not buying it. Sad drive home. Happened to me twice.
My car isn't a terminator. But I love it. And drove from Long Island New York all the way to Detroit for it. 12 hours straight. And 14 hours home straight. Only 4 hours sleep in the middle of that. Car had it all. Viper trany. Built sra. 10 th anniversary interior and 20 psi. Haha. Memories. Thanks dad. For the help
When I had my CTS-V I was trying to sell it to get into a Terminator. I had the car for sale for over a month and couldn't get a bite on it. I started calling on Cobra's I saw on craigslist and SVTP. I finally called a guy from New Jersey (I'm in CT). He agreed upon a trade. Long story short, I traded the Caddy straight up for the Cobra. I paid $15,700 for the CTS-V btw ;-)
Got her with 38,600 miles. The guy met me half way so I drove an hour and a half.
The day I got her!
Signing off the title to the V (god I hated those reflective bumper inserts lol)
The ride home. I was riding shotgun because my buddy had his dealer plate and had to drive, it was torture lol
Got real lucky, local dealer(literally 6 miles from my house) had my 04 Redfire on the lot. 34K miles, just a catback and a K&N filter where the mods:beer:
I flew from Wilmington, NC to Oklahoma City, OK and drove mine back... IIRC it was a 17 hour drive... got lot's of thumbs up on the way home from people, great feeling!
Stopping in OKC for a quick pic and bite to eat before heading out...
I was so excited, I don't think I took any pics of mine the moment I picked it up. I met up with the guy, we talked, I drove the car, he handed over the keys and we parted ways..I stopped in the closest gas station, filled it up with 93 and hit the road. But I know I had a few people at the store staring at the car, compliments on the car, etc. And still do today.
My first terminator I bought off the showroom floor here locally. This current one I flew one way to Tennessee then drove her home! Felt great got some runs on the way to keep things interesting.
"Because It's Worth It Club." How far did you have to travel to get your Termin
Bought sight unseen from NY. Nephew picked it up and trailered it back to MD then a few weeks later the wife and I took a scheduled trip to MD and I drove it home to NC. That was a long wait and I could see the burnouts in front of my brothers house, damn kids! Had ~23k and some change now ~27k.
Didn't have to go too far for mine. But got extremely lucky as to obtaining it because the day the dealer received the car happened to be the day my cousin was picking up his new ride. The cuz gave me a call that they just received it, went over and checked it out and put a deposit. People were storming in to try to buy it, but to no avail. Great stories though by everyone so far. Keep em coming!
Bought it on 08 with 17k miles on it. 99% stock. It had an aftermarket stereo and flowmaster mufflers welded in. Drive from San Francisco to LA and back in one day. Drove down in a pos Honda, purchased it, went to Disneylsnd for two hours and drive home with the wife following in the Honda. Very long day. Lol!
Bought mine in 06 with 14k miles drove down from grande prairie Alberta to Wheaton,il in my parents RV and drove the car back. Drove 10 hours straight for 3 days and made it home. Trip was about 1900 miles. But felt very short seeing I was driving a terminator!
Only color I wanted was Comp Orange and my friends new it. Friend pmed me and said there was one 100 miles away. It was owned by the wife, 15,000 miles, flawless no mods for 26,000 back in 2005....BOUGHT!
i drove 8 1/2 hours one way, got a hotel 15 min from sellers house, then went and picked it up at 8 am the next morning, signed papers, and drove 8 1/2 hours back home lol.
