sounds like a similar story that happened to me...

THere isn't anything you can do but bitch about it and fix it.

In my case, it called for a shit ton of work, cometic head gaskets, and ARP head studs.

This must be the attack Evil and defend Allgo post. I have known Evil for years and I can tell you that he is a stand up guy. I can understand impartial parties having different opinions on this, but read the posts. You are blatantly saying Evil is a liar. The best proof of what kind of guy Evil really is this from someone that barely knows him(Post #78). Evil sold his 04...the guy drives it 2300 miles and sticks up for him! If that isn't proof of how honest the guy is, I don't know what is.

As for Allgo I think he knew of the problems before hand, saw a quick opportunity to sell his car to a person with cash, and did what he had to do. Why would he be rushing him to load the car on the trailer and not even count the money! I don't care if the guy is financially stable or not...he saw an opportunity and ran with it. Allgo is a con artist....Plain and Simple!!!

For the "stop whining and just fix it comments", he is doing what is needed to solve the problems.....Put yourself in his shoes....ANYONE would be upset after buying a car no matter the price and having an issue with it....especially one for $26K.

I concur

I feel that this guy is shady. I would not be surprised if he knew all along. I mean what kind of highly intelligent guy mods his car to high heavens and then leaves winter gas in it for potential buyers!?!

I mean to pay 26k for a tracked car, the buyer wants to push it. This is common since especially for a builder... Yet he tells buyers to NOT PUSH IT:dw:

This is sketch and unprofessional. I hope the seller helps pay for it otherwise he loses any legitimacy in my book.

What happened to a forum against this kind of shit.

I no way have any connections with both of these parties but this thread seamed to stand out. I think even if Joe is or was a stand up guy he would work with Evil to get it handled. But since his name was dragged through the mud he isn't going to help. Kind of sounds like the 97 cobra his nephew sold awhile back with a toasted motor in it and denied all issues as well. Just my 2 cents take it for what its worth.

I'm sensing a connection but I can't quite put my finger on it...

90% of the posters here don't know either party but there's a lot of opinions/accusations being made against both parties. The simple answer is for both parties to talk and work something out. Based on what both parties have stated here there is certainly enough reason for the seller to at least talk to the buyer. At this point it doesn't appear that is going to happen, and that is very unfortunately for them both. I'm still hoping the seller will at least call the buyer and try to work something out. I do realize the car was sold "as is" but I'd surely want to do for the buyer what I'd want the buyer to do for me if the shoe was on the other foot. There's the letter of the law (buying a car "as is" with no warranty) and there's doing what is morally right. Simply because it's the right thing to do. Just sayin.

I met evil when my brother bought his ported eaton. Seems like a real standup guy. Blower was exactly as he described & he took the time to answer all our questions. I would not hesitate to deal with him again. Hope you get termi back together soon.

Here you go here is my one post on this... buyer comes down to look at car spends 4 hours looking car over top to bottom with friend, we drive down road 2 to 3 miles and come back car runs starts idles drives perfect no problems what so ever all gauges temps fine.. this guy looks over car harder then anyone I have been around. Less then a week later buyer comes down we take car out again for a drive come back everything is fine again no problems what so ever, then load on trailor 100% fine and running. Buyer takes off and texts me 3 days later after I told him to not hammer on the car cause the fuel has been in car all winter needs to be drained texts me why is the car blowing some red rust out and breaking up in high rpms.. I say did you drain fuel he says no, I say well you need to do that before you beat it like I said.. then 7 days from the purchase the buyer texts me about water in the oil, I say the car has set all winter there is proable moisture in the crankcase from setting in a cold garage common, then 4 days later after owning the car and beating it calls me and says car wont start, well it ran 100% perfect when it left I dont know what to tell you, car was sold as is no warrenty. I am not trying to be a dick here but come on the intercooler pump is wired right this I know cause it is from the factory no aftermarket. And you can not get a oil test back from the test source in 3 days this I know... So I wanted to help you out but you get on here like a little girl and cry to all the members here who will only get your half and my half of the story, so they can make there own decisions on what really went down.. and thanks bob for the kind words, I would and have never sold a car with something wrong with it...

How cold does it get in Iowa. Sounds like it sat all winter in cold storage.:uh oh:

just got off the phone with steve, at tousley $900+ retail for a stock replacement ic!!! would be able to get it for a mid $600.

still a lot of money, anybody know of any aftermarket ic?

only one i have found is griffen(spelling) makes an aftermarket one they custom make and would be two weeks.

if i just have it welded i would think i could run into same problems down the road and i would not feel right ever selling the car with it in it, whenever that time would come.

Jeremy:

I hope that a new IC is all you need. It would be an expensive lesson but would not be the end of the world as long as there was nothing else wrong with the motor.

It appears that the seller knew of this issue and that is why the IC had no coolant in it. I would see nothing wrong with asking the seller to pick up the tab for the replacement IC you had to buy and install in his defective goods he tried to pedal off as being operable/functional!

Just my two cents.

Good luck with the car.

So have you actually went and pulled the SC or are you just guessing thats the entire issue? I wouldnt spend 600+ dollars on a new IC without atleast inspecting the one thats on it...maybe I'm weird but I dont like wasting money

+1.....Absolutely.

IF it is the intercooler, often times you can repair the stocker. If that's not an option, would definitely try SVTP's Market Forum. Usually some availbale from the turbo guys.

took the blower off yesterday and the ic is cracked, it cracked on the outside on a heavy duty cast part... i think i will have it welded.

this guy that owned that car is a real joke!

so after taking out the plugs... some were gapped at .045... some at .040... and some at .035 of an inch!

oh but it gets better, the driver side of the engine all had granatelli coil packs.... and the passanger side had factory!

while we are going to have everything apart, we took the lower intake, and valve covers off to hot bath them to clean them, and im going to have the valve covers painted red fire to match the color of the car.

to get them off was a biotch! had to lower the k-member an inch and a half to get the driverside off.

while the car was on the hoist again while we did that.... we saw the old owner decided not to put a bolt back on one of the motor mounts!!!

i am putting fore fuel rails on the car... when we took the rails that were on the car off, we noticed the old owner some how forgot to tell me that while welding the aftermarket rails the rails were cracked!

they thought it would be a good idea to just weld over the cracks and take a blue sharpie to color it in! so nobody could would see! what a joke.
