Likewise bro...always a good time! I just wanted my 2nd gear back (after being ripped away from me after the e85 conversion).....and you saw, it held really well. Driving home from your place today, the car really felt "glued" to the highway..... so the tires get the "04sleeper stamp of approval"....that says something!
They do hook very well! Ecactly what I was hoping for out of them.

They do get my stamp! LOL...

Wow, I'm glad to hear that the tires are hooking well. I ordered mine on Thursday after reading a few reviews. Seems like I chose the right tire!

Good call! At your power levels, i imagine you will get every bit of 1st gear. I had mine set @ 28 psi.....prepare yourself!! :dancenana:

Yes (#s in sig on HPPs dynojet). I did have a full tank of corn and Sleeper with me, so I had additional weight in the car. It felt great in 2nd! Now I did not powershift 1-2 so I dont know how it would react then, I'm sure it would spin unless on a prepped track. I am looking forward to warmer roads....yesterday was in the low 60s when I did my testing, so the roads felt pretty good anyway.

Well today got some miles on the new DRs. 04 sleeper and I went out for a few pulls and short cruise. Was running around today with tire pressure @ 28 psi. Full tank of E85, and Kevins additional mass. Did not do any burnouts to get em hot or sticky, but these tires are very sticky as is.

1st gear (on concrete): Holds well, but still spins at around 10 psi. I expected this.
2nd gear (on concrete) : I'll be damned, they 99% hooked. A little tire scratching going on but I am ecstatic!!
3rd gear : Whoa nelly! I got my 1st taste of drag radial softer sidewalls.....she was swaying a bit at the top of 3rd....once again, i expected it....and the traction I now have is a very welcome change!

Overall, given the amount of torque I'm hitting these tires with....I give em 2 big thumbs up! I have not tried any other DRs before, but these meet and satisfy my expectations. I can imagine with 20 or so psi on a prepped track with a good burnout, they would be half shaft killers........but since I'm a street only guy, I am very pleased with this purchase. Money well spent!

What size wheel are the DR's mounted on?

Would you say the NT05 street tire hooks better than the 555DR's on the dry pavement? When you were running the NT05 street tires, did you ever get caught in the rain? If so, how did they do for ya? I'm in the process of researching tires for my car and am leaning towards a DR for max traction. However, I only have 9" wheels and need a 315/35 tire that will fit and can get me home if I get caught in the rain.

How was the tread life of the NT05 street tires? I see they have a 200 tread wear rating. I am looking for an alternative to the played out BF KDW NTs. Also, the Nitto Invo Extremes look nice, but they are a little narrower.

just a quick cell pic from the other day, hard to see true width with the shadows......but they are much much wider than the 555rs. these are on a 10.5 wide wheel

They remind me of the Hoosier DR's with tread on the sides. They prob aren't near as soft though.

Yea, im interested in some info on the NT05. Im looking for an overall great performer. Hows the wear on the front NT05's looking? And from what ive heard, the NT05R compound is supposed to be every bit as sticky, or even stickier, than the MT's.

they are soft, but I have never stuck my fingernail in hoosiers so I couldnt tell you the difference.

those look sick! what size nto5's are you running on the front?

255 40 17s

NT05s are an awesome performer, hands down the best street tire I have had on the car, handling and traction wise. The wear on the front tires is not bad, but it's time for me to balance and rotate them (side to side).
The rears just got worn quicker than the fronts....not sure why :burnout:
