Are you able to open the Chaparral holding just the blade and flicking your wrist?

Have not played with it much but recall it being pretty damn stiff. I'll get back to you in the AM. Still at work.....with another knife if my pocket.@mariusvt

Thank you. And thank you for being an addict! HahaHave not played with it much but recall it being pretty damn stiff. I'll get back to you in the AM. Still at work.....with another knife if my pocket.
So I can hold the body and flick down and open the blade. Flicking out isn’t as easy. Didn’t try holding the blade. Sure it would get easier with use. I will say I wish it was a little bigger and not a fan of the wire like belt clip.@mariusvt

Mine will with a good flick with my thumb in the ring and using wrist, side or down. It's better now than when I got it but still stiff. I don't have any other Spyderco knives to compare it with.@mariusvt

Everything I've seen says the spydercos coming out of their Taiwan maker are very stiff but can adjust the pivot screw to lighten the action. T6 torx head I believe, but I haven't really touched the pivot yet.
Yea, that's why I haven't touched it. I think it will break in over time and use.I use a Spyderco as a edc. It was stiff at first but loosened up on it own with use. Not I can flip it open almost like it's assisted. I would wait before doing any adjustment.
Interested...but doubt I'll pay that much for a knife. It's sexy though! I just got these other two Microtechs and one aint even got here yet. I'm good for a while. So you're interested in the Prototype, or a standard version? Any idea how many Prototypes in the run? I see that the Prototype was $719. What does the standard version sell for? I'm intrigued by this one.
Damn, son! Leave some for the rest of us!
We get to do this once, make it what you want. I appreciate seeing the toys and the unbiased feedback. Keep it coming!I just like toys...we unlucky in the kid department so I've just decided to stay one myself.
I was telling someone just last night at work about Frost Cutlery. Pretty sure it was them anyhow. When I was a very young teen I use to get their catalog. Not sure how often it came out but getting it was awesome! They had all the colorful knifes like Rambo and this and that....made my day to go through it a 100 times! They had blow darts and throwing knives! I do believe the only knife I ever ordered from it was this one which I still have and 50 now. Here are some of my knives. I have some more, but nothing I would consider to be Kershaw or Gerber type quality. I used to collect knives, but I stopped a while ago after I had a crazy collection of them. Now I just focus on my car & watches, but I decided to just keep mu current knives since I still have a decent amount.
The giant foldable knife is more of a novelty than anything. It's one of those knives I bought at a gun show. You guys probably know what i'm talking about. There's always that one guy with a booth at the gun show selling those Katana swords, "belt buckles" that are just brass knuckles, smaller knives, American flag shirts, stickers, and anything where an American flag can be placed lol.

For reference, the vintage Ruko German Bowie knife is 11.5"
Do you carry it daily and use it daily throughout your day? Or is it used mainly at home. The older brother just arrived a few minutes ago. Just before I leave for work…nice. Easier to open due to more thumb surface area. Can’t say I love one more than the other size wise. We’ll see in time.
