Done collecting knives for a bit. I'm so in love with my smaller Microtech.

Hey guys if anyone is looking for something for Christmas or anything else my son is the manager at our local knife shop and business has been a little slower this year. Check out the website or you can ask me and I can check for you and get a price. Might even be able to get a better price for you. They carry a lot of stuff. Mods if this isn’t allowed let me know and I will delete.

Looks like Templar knife is a lower priced competitor to Microtech? I’d be curious to hear what he thinks about their resilience and durability.

Here’s his answer.

“Long story short if you’re looking for resilience/durability I wouldn’t be looking at any out the front automatic knives regardless of manufacturer. It is a complicated mechanism and dirt, lint or debris of any kind can gunk it up and cause misfires.

They are a lower priced alternative in regard to their lower end line but once you get to Templar’s higher end models you start to border microtech price point and if it’s reliability you’re after get the microtech.”

I bought one at a local show in DFW. It was nice when I first got it but doesn't work anymore. (mechanism doesn't work it or out) I think they will warranty it, but not sure it's even worth the drive to fix it.

@utlong31 It may be possible to convince me that I need this knife if he can get it.

They only have two Protech knives left at this time. One is a custom and the other is the Emerson. He said they should get another shipment late January but the problem is Protech is a smaller company and they will send a list of what’s available. I’ll update what they have available later in January if you haven’t found one elsewhere.
