Can someone recommend a spring assist open and close strait out/in knife that around or under $150$

A Co worker just received a Smith and Wesson m&p assisted open knife but you have to manually use a slide button to close it. But it nice for $50.

Any preference on blade length? There's a bunch of otf slide deploys that probably would be in your price point.

Around 3ish inches. I figured out they are called dual action OTF automatic knives. So now that I know that, I can Google and not waste you guys time. I'm going to get a China one that has a lock on it just to see if I like the weight of one in my pocket all day for work. I see some for under $40 which is fine to test out. I'll sort through some this weekend. I wish more of the ones I like had locks. I'm not trying to stab myself in the leg.

S&W knives are now made in China, just for everyone's awareness

So far pretty good. It's slim in the pocket and lightweight (but not quite as light as my mini bugout). Blade size is subjective, but if you're not doing anything heavy duty it's perfect EDC length. The CF laminated g10 scales have a good texture. I haven't used it much yet but my similar sized mini bugout I've used for everything from cutting packages open to slicing an apple without issue or wishing I was carrying a larger blade. It's my only Spyderco so I don't have anything to compare it to but the opening action is definitely stiff, but it should easy up with use and if not it could be tweaked with the pivot screw some to make it more flick open.

Just fyi, Spyderco discontinued the CF chaparral so when they run out they're gone. The mini bugout is also a great lightweight carry, I often forget it's even in my pocket it's so light. Here they are together

Just ordered my first Microtech. This black and bronze really caught my eye. Middle of the road price wise. Crazy how expensive some of these knifes can be, especially anything "custom".

Very nice bro! Nice pick ups! I only have the one Microtech (Dirac Delta). Superb craftsmanship. I only wish I had more use for it. It really is just a stabbing machine. Lol

i can say, Ive open/closed mine… at least 1,000 times… exactly the same as when I got it new. Extremely precise and stout. Extremely minimal amount of blade play for an OTF. Far FAR superior to the Benchmade Infidel.

Craftsmanship will be the same. From what I gather, action will vary based on models…. Some of the smaller variants will be more thumb friendly. Bigger versions are a little “tougher” to actuate… you will get used to it. The spring is TIGHT, which I prefer.

Thats the Dirac Delta, which is what I have. Mine is all black and non serrated.

Yeah I really dig this Delta and the one I ordered which shipped today. I may order this one in a month or two. Then I think I'm good for a while.
