I messaged him on ebay asking if he would come down.
He replied saying the car isnt for me.

They made a lot of 03 cobras. 04s not so much. The one most likely to become a collector piece is the mystichrome. I recently sold mine for almost as much as I paid for it in 06. it had 11k miles and an accident on the title (which did not show up on carfax till 2012). I miss it but I don't regret selling it .... yet ..I’m well aware of all of that.
They made a LOT of ‘03-04 Cobras, so they will be hard pressed to ever be considered a high end collector car.

you should email him back and tell him it apparently is not for him eitherI messaged him on ebay asking if he would come down.

more like $11.50But that's what, $22k USD?
They made 12k Supras over 7yrs. So not really the same.Sold just as many Supra MKIVs and look what happened there. The problem the Cobra has is the base cars and the ease of building a replica.
You don't need to drop $30k for the "Cobra"
experience. Same isn't true for a MKIV, GTR, 911, Viper, etc.
Mods don’t add money, they actually hurt a collector type vehicle.Well anyone that sells a car like mine for $25k would be nuts or in desperate need of money. Just mods alone equals that.
I don't plan on selling the car so it really does not matter to me what other people are willing to pay for it.

My dude..Had to send him a message offering him 15k for that. Told him that's all its worth.
I said mid 20s and replied with a sarcastic comment.White coupe. (Not a top of the list preferred color)
3K miles.
No mods.
I'd pay $30K. If it was Competition Orange or another more preferred color, $34K. Assuming everything else was good with the car.
This seller is crazy high on the price. He's hoping to snag a buyer who lacks knowledge about '03-'04 Cobras and is foolish enough to hand over $42K.
@jmsa540, how much did you offer him? His auction DOES have a Make An Offer option. So I'm guessing yours was much lower than he would consider.
Of course I agree mods will hurt resale. I kept all the original parts. Reputable shops worked on the car and did a great job with top notch parts. I am not interested in selling as I mentioned but I would probably get more than $25k for the car and all the original parts. Not on a car forum though lol!Mods don’t add money, they actually hurt a collector type vehicle.
I just tore apart a very clean, very stock Teal ‘93 Cobra. Anyone who care for the investment would have fixed 10-15 things to make it 100% original and let it gain value. To me, it’s a driver and the car I wanted in high school, so it’ll look stock inside and out, but have a TVS Coyote, 6-speed and IRS.
And just like you, I won’t sell.
This is a fun thread of what is the car worth. I say $30k, but then you’re hard pressed to enjoy it as low mile and stock is good only for collecting, not driving.
If I were you I wouldn’t sell for $25k either, but if you put it up, that’s exactly what I’d expect it to bring.
