it was not a high population density area. it was a lonely stretch of indian head highway. bunch of less than intelligent people gathered on the side of the road to watch a street race. once the racers took off they all went into the street to get a better view. what they didn't see was another street racing pair coming down the road that plowed through the smoke and hit the crowd. 8 people dead. I lived in Accokeek and graduated from high school in southern PG county. I have been up and down that road a hundred times. it is a road where at 2 or 3 in the am there is no traffic .... which is why the ignorant asshats use it for street racing. Somewhat related, but amazes me how many are wiped out standing in the middle of a road, yet very few are injured at rally cross events where people are right on the edge of the track. Course big part is likely pro drivers, and not douchebags.

That is basically the description of racing

I'm not arguing legal definitions. All over the media is comments of why would a mustang even race that car. A lot of people thing street racing is two cars at a stop, revving their engines, going on green and then there's a set finish line.

This was more likely just two jackasses driving at a high rate of speed, in a reckless manner. Plenty argue that isn't street racing. I'm just trying to paint a picture of the more likely situation at hand.

The number of cylinders or horsepower was not a factor. This would have happened with two drivers in Kia Souls, this was 100% both the drivers fault.

I bought a 96 Cobra when I was 15.

Never killed anyone. We had an old straight flat road outside of town that you could just see for miles.

There's a time and a place for this stuff. People need to raise their kids better.
