I'd almost bet money on the upper and lower lines being switched. OP, get us a detailed pic.

I agree Brad, its bleeding off boost and I think its something as simple as the lines being installed incorrectly.

OP you said you went return fuel system since your last tune. When you get your car back tomorrow take detailed pics behind the blower and sides and look for any lines that you may have knocked off or switched by accident. I have a strong feeling its something simple and easy fix for you.

And I know the routing is correct now because my tuner had to correct my manifold
Vacuum line that goes to my return pressure regulator. Car wouldn't run or tune if those 3 plastic lines weren't connected to the right spot of the blower (bottom), Nevermind even reading boost. But if you message me
, I'll still get you the pictures that you want no problem!

Has anyone ever heard of a blower leaking boost from the rear connections without actually blowing
The connections off?

We need to see the vac lines going to the boost by-pass. One relies on engine vac and the other goes nowhere but a vent to the intake or air. PM or email me pics.

Just catching up on this thread ... I've been running a 3.0" X 4# lower for 3 years with no issues! I wouldn't let that sway your decision!

I run a 2.6" pulley on my Whipple doing 21 psi with no slipping issues. It took everything I had to get the belt on and when I took it out of the first test drive it was pegged all the way to max on the tensioner. After a short drive it was half between the center and maxed out on the indicator.

Gt500 tb with gen 2 high boost

Ok so those are not going to be giving you any restrictions on the intake side of the blower. Ok post up those pics when you get them of the vac lines. We are all here to help you get through this, I know this sucks for you. Hoping for a simple fix

I'm not sure if anyone has asked this yet but, what size snub idler are you using? When I had a 2.6 upper, I used a 100mm idler. I never had belt slip and I ran that set-up for years. You need to isolate the belt slip problem. Swapping superchargers isn't the answer.

+1 to this, please list all of your idlers if you could. I ran the 2.6 upper on a used belt and it literally started smoking from slipping so bad. We then went out and bought a new standard gates belt and it held until 6k and they started to squeal. I don't think the car lost boost but we did not stay in it to see. Since then we ordered a new HD belt but have not put it back on the car to see how it holds. I am running all billet flow idlers and have a 100mm snub idler installed.

Stiegemeir will grind down the grooves on your pulley which is supposed to help the belt bite better. I have thought about doing this for peace of mind but have not sent my pulley off yet.

Please post up what you find out, but I still think you have other issues other than the blower itself.

Just so everyone knows, john Lund just finished my tuning with the 3.0
Pulley. At 17.5 psi and e85 it made 658 hp and 595 tq.

So I take it you're planning on keeping it now? How far from SD is this John Lund?

Don't get me wrong these numbers are nice for what it is, but I wanted
To hit that 21.5 psi mark like senkak. I have a few people messaging me, some are
Recommending me to get that 4 pound lower and call it a day.
John Lund is from the east coast. He's on the other side of the states from me, but he works
With a guy that owns a shop here in SoCal. So I use his dyno while Lund
Tunes live on the other end of the computer.
