As a kid I snuck up on a blackbird with a .22 - it must have been asleep - and shot it at close range - maybe a foot away. Blew both its wings right off. It was funny at first but I felt like an ass afterwards.
You mean like a crow? I hate crows. I hear if you shoot one with a 30.06 that it's just a big puff of black feathers.
If it was a crow it was a very small one. Not much bigger than a robin if I remember correctly.
