TVS was a fun blower for sure. I swapped it out for the 2.9 in hope to have room to grow when I get bored.

I bought both of my blowers used and saved a substantial amount of money. However, lethal will run 15% off whipples from time to time and make the 2.9 an absolute steal at 3400~

If it's e78 I run the e85 tune and it's just a touch rich, no big deal.

Roy, yes I've had a variation. But it's usually only when switching from winter blend (e70) to summer blend e85. Generally between May 15th to June 15th.
How much extra dyno time did that cost you to have a conservative and aggressive ethanol tune?

I do a TVS if I was going to upgrade with a return style.

I hope to some day see this happen.

I was just screwing with you Brady. Back in my sct days I had a tune for every ethanol content under the sun. Now that im running Binary Editor thats not so easy to do, so I just leave stoich alone in the tune if its close.

So I guess this is a good spot to put this. Why do people say the TVS makes so much more torque than the Whipple 2.9 & KB 2.8? This dyno is in STD, so the numbers are about 3% lower if they were SAE, so 565 rwtq, which is essentially exactly the same as my KB 2.8H.

Here is my KB 2.8H @ 20-21psi, and full exhaust, 93 octane.

It looks to me like very very close numbers even below 3k rpm (which is kinda useless, if you're driving hard it flies to 4k rpm almost instantly in any gear). So with that said, I dont have any desire for a TVS over my KB 2.8H. Streetability is great, the whine is awesome, and if I pony up the couple grand for the E85 conversion I'm at a very safe & streetable 725+rwhp.

I know every combo is a little different, but maybe this particular Whipple was a little lazy down low compared to others?

You're on a different dyno. The dyno I posted was a TVS vs a 2.9l on the same dyno with the same tuner, similar boost and torque looks like its almost 60ft/lb greater at the same RPM.

I suppose, but they're both DynoJet's, and you'd hope two big shops like Kurgan & Alternative had well-calibrated machines.

I'm curious to see what a TVS @ 20psi and 93 octane runs at the track. There were a couple at the track last time I was there, but I'm not sure how much boost they were running. Most were 5 tenths+ and 5+ mph slower than mine, and I'm a full weight convertible.

That proves right there that Dyno's don't mean a whole lot unless comparing cars on the same one. Most TVS's at 20 psi are going to be right in the 620-630rwhp range as well, and you're "5+ tenths and 5+ mph" faster than them.

Eaton is making a 2.65L TVS, we just need to VMP or someone to put it in a case for our cars. Either that or someone to modify our cases for the bigger rotor pack.

I'd sell my little 2.3!
I wouldn't be at all shocked if they made something like that. Didn't whipple essentially take a 2.3 and elongate the case while using the same type/size rotors? If they made something like that they would have trouble keeping production up with the demand lol

My 2.8h KB made 611hp and 604 tq on 18 almost 19 psi on 93. Same dyno same day, I swapped on another 2 psi and e85, car made 694hp and 674tq.

Mods are: 3.75" upper, 2lb lower (on 93), 4lb lower (on e85), bassani mid length headers, o/r bassani x pipe, bassani CB, JLT HB gen 1, BA3000 maf, 80's, return fuel system with -10 feed and -8 return.

Very similar to my numbers. I made 30 more ponies but you made 30 more pounds of tq. I'm on a JLT RAI -8 feed -6 return 110lb injectors.
