because having a manual and checking the taillights of cars with 200whp less is so respectable.

I think the auto is at a disadvantage on the launch. Mod for mod an M6 can more then likely 60ft faster then an A6 due to being able to launch harder.

I think of myself as a horrible driver but all my runs are within .1-.2 of eachother.

I would also love a 200rwhp A6 5.0 to whoop my ass on the track.
I quoted and bolded my post for you, since your reading skills don't seem to be working today (i take it you're probably out of coffee at work? it happens...)
I said 200whp LESS, not necessarily a "200whp car".
Autos can cut 1.3 -1.4 60 ft times. With mods ofcourse. Is hard for stick cars to do that. Some can do it ofcourse but not nearly as easy as autos. Which is why the fastest coyotes are autos. At the drag strip at least.
ding ding ding dingggggggg
do we need to refer to the 1/4 times list on here? i think it's clear which car is at an advantage at launch, and therefore cutting a better ET.

Im talking mod for mod cars. M6, o/r x pipe, slicks and skinnies, boss intake, cai vs same thing with A6. Some of the stick cars are in the 1.4x's and A6 cars are in the 1.5-1.6 range.

Dont get me wrong when it comes to power adder cars the mt82 just doesnt last. I will go A6 when I choose to go power adder but for now N/A im more then happy with my M6.

The thing is, you can ask everyone their opinions until you're blue in the face. But in the end, they're just that, opinions. I know that the A6 is the better tranny for racing and can handle more power, but I don't care. I don't drive my car on the track everyday. I'm not going to tell you why one is better then the other because again, in the end, you know what you like and want and that's what you're going to buy. If you like having an M6, you'll still love this car. The only thing I can say bad about it is that it's too easy to shift. After 20 years of banging gears in Tremecs, I'm struggling to get to used to that. Good luck. :)

This is all coming from the guy that "bogged" on nitrous on 1 pass at the track then parked his car and gave up.

I cant wait for all the threads with questions from you when you get your car, aluminator and TT setup.

First time at the track on spray, and with 28" drag radials. Only got to make one pass at 11.5@126.
What do you run again? that's right... dreams and hopes.

What does the aluminator/TT build have anything to do with auto being better than manual? lmao of course I'm going to have questions, just like anybody else that has done it themselves and has done the same kind of stuff.
You go ahead and do a full fuel system upgrade, motor swap, converter, DS, TT setup and then let me know if you don't have questions LOL
Arent you the one that made threads about suspension, clutch, sparkplug, even oil for e85 LOL.

There are not a lot of bolt on M6 cars running 1.4 60 foots, I can think of maybe 2 and they are 1.48-1.49 at best and usually 60 foot in the .50s. An A6 car with a converter will usually out 60 foot an M6 car and will do it far more consistently. The A6 can also easily do it on a drag radial where the M6 car needs a 28 in slick to go 1.5s. My 13 has 28 in Hoosier slicks and launching at 7000 has only got me a 1.50 so far. I know with a few more changes it will go 1.48-1.49 but not much faster and that launch is hella brutal on parts compared to the A6.

Uhhhhh I do not think I would have any questions. Ive been there and done that...

Also on spray you ran the same et as me with only 4mph more. How big was the shot again?!?!

Your one of the first auto bandwagon ****s to jump in on these threads. I havent said anything negative about the auto at all in here. If you know how to read you can go back and see I said I will be going to an auto.

All im saying is mod for mod an M6 n/a can be just as fast if not faster then an A6.

Ok, you ran what? and with what mods again?
The only bolt on my car had was a midpipe.
Ran 11.5@126 with a 100shot, a midpipe, tune and tires. That's it.
I'm not a bandwagoner for the auto, i've had a manual up until today (Ford just called me, my auto 14' arrived finally), it just sucks for drag racing. Yes the manual CAN be just as fast, but you're going to have a perfect launch once in a while, not every single time. Additionally, it is way harder on parts and more prompt to spin. These are facts, not bandwagonning.

The battle of auto versus manual at the drag strip is....

.1 consistency every run with an auto.

Manuals so not share such luxuries.

For street use in stock, or mildly modded form, the manual is fine. Obviously, my future goals with my car will exceed the manual's capacity.

the manual police is all over this thread :lol1:

It's more fun to lose a race but to row gears while doing it...

Your attitude is why the "manual police" even say anything. It's fine to have an opinion, but you are not very accepting of other peoples opinions :nono: You are the epitome of opinionated. The manual guys (99%) admit that the auto is faster, and more consistent, but you just can't admit that just maybe some people like shifting more.... I'm out

PS- I would LOVE to see what these auto guys would be saying if the 5.0 came with a good manual and the camaro had an auto that was beating them. I bet they would be arguing how "boring" an auto is, and that it takes "no skill" to go fast in them.... just a thought

11,000 miles on my 13 and so far no issues short of being a little notchy here and there. Personally i don't care how much faster/stronger/consistent the auto is. To me driving around in an Auto ruins the driving experience. If and when my MT82 takes a turn for the worst i will be swapping in a magnum xl.

If i was building a dedicated drag car, that's another story.

X2...Its the same 2 people attacking the mt82 everytime.

Wow, chill man. It's just our opinions, and funnily enough. My last real race at the track was against a built ls Camaro, auto, launching with a Trans break. My consistency on my manual beat him. I ran my second fastest time against him, and he blew the launch and ended up running a middle of the road (for him) 11.7ish. It was a fun race, and according to you, I should have lost before it even began :)

FWIW...i have to agree that a stick car is still alot more fun and relies solely on the driver input and capability to get the best out of it.....i live raping gears in my shelby and something has to be said about going fast in a stick car...i know when i broke into the 9's with my gt500 i earned alot of respect simply because tou dont see many 9 sec rides where people are bangin their own gears...my auto is alot if fun simply because its crazy consistant...i know the worst it can do is a 10.0 and the best will be 9.80's...the fun in the auto is all off the line and in the 1-2 shift...after that it is boring in all honesty...it is however alot if fun to beat cars with more hp and a manual trans...i know at my local track i get a ton of people walking up to me after they see me rip off a slow looking non violent 9 sec pass....my shelby is violent...it gets my adrenaline going and it feels like your on the edge...the auto feels like im out on the freeway in a hurry to make it to the supermarket...its tame in every way compared to my shelby yet with nearly 200+ less hp is really close to running the same numbers...i think to each their own...ive owned 2 mt82 11+ 5.0's and for me the moment i went out in a well tuned n/A auto i was sold immediately....the 13+ with the sport mode is as close to a manual car as you can get and its Lot of fun being able to up and down shift on command...anyway just thought id throw out my perspective having owned both a manual and auto 5.0...
