Would like to see a thread that is dedicated to those with Race Star wheels. Im looking at going this route since Im putting a Roush on later in the year instead of the "fancy", heavy 20" rims. Please post pics and let us know what size you have on both front and back, what brand/style and size tires you have, and the type of driving and/or use of your vehicle (dd, track only, road course, etc.)
Thanks
RC

Also, if you can please state where you purchased or provide links.

What tires do you use? Is this setup for track only?

Im looking for ones that I can put on my car that's a daily driver, but not very many miles driven on it.. Beefcake suggested the 18 in the back and 17x7 in front. IDK how that would look but I guess it would be something between what's on yours and what a "normal" car has.

Thanks..car looks :burnout:

BHARRIS: So you drive your car normally with the 4.5" wheels up front, and you have 2 full sets of tires/rims for the back?

Having skinny tires up front is not going to do much in a panic stop situation or if you need to make an evasive maneuver. A 17x7 would probably be a better choice if you are going to do a lot of street driving

Nice, and you dont have handling issues with those up front? Im not going to track mine, but I DO want to be able to take the off-ramp curves without worrying. Beefcake suggested to use 7's up front, which I may do. They also have an 8" in 17s.

If you decide on getting the the wheels be sure to get the direct drilled for the the rears. I just bought racestars uni lug so I could run them on my drag car too. I took my stang to the track and had a difficult time taking the rears off. I then realized that the uni lug rears could potentially break the studs off the axles on hard launches. Also, with skinnies up front the car is difficult to stop it will skid and it may also set off a tire sensor default light.

Front: 17x4 with M&H 185/ /17
Back: 15x8 with Mickey thompson 275/50/15

Stock springs so huge wheel gap with the short tires.

General driving around they aren't bad at all. I have flat out put my foot to the floor on the brakes from 50 with no issues. I keep hearing how they suck with the 17x4's but I haven't had any issues with stopping. They do feel more floaty I can take corners at the speed limit but I don't feel comfortable pushing them too far passed that.

Not a great pic, I dont like the 15/17 look so I went with with the 17x4 and 17x9.5 rear with the 185/55 M&H radials and 295/45/17 MT drag radials. Downside is the 17" rears are kinda heavy, the tires are 30lbs and the wheels are 20 so they are only like 6lbs less than the stock 19s, fronts are 25lbs less each though :) I will just use them at the dragstrip.

This is my drag set up. I use my stock tires for everyday driving.
tires on rear are 275/60/15. MT ET Pros
tires on front are 185/55/17 M&H Racemasters

That is a pretty nice Setup. I would consider that one. I dont mind if the weight savings is not that great. I currently have 20" on the back with a thinner profile, so I am HEAVIER than the stock 19". Therefore the 6 lb savings is actually more for comparatively speaking than what Im running now. Just the fact that the tire on that rim is better than the "usual" DR stuff with the 35 profile should make it a more fun car for me. I wont see much track time, and I only put about 150 miles per week on the car, so I would like a setup that is permanent..(not changing them out).

I still would like to consider the 18x10.5 in back and 17x7 or 8 in the front, but I wouldnt know which size tires to get. Im guessing the brand tire would be MT Street ET II but not too sure. Also dont know which Fronts I would use. Hoping Beefcake will chime in here soon. Nevertheless, thanks for all the replies.
