I for one hope Tesla does not die. It’s an American company trying to bring new tech to the masses.
they won't die. They survived 07/08/09, unlike many companies. I don't like Tesla cars, but like you said, they are bringing jobs to MANY people. Plus, they are keeping Ford and GM on their toes for innovating better electric vehicles. That being said I LOVE GASSERS =)

Agreed. Love the sound, smell, and thrill that gas motors bring. I can't say that I'll own an EV some day, but it'd likely be after my dick stops working.

I didnt say it was funny. I thought your post was ironic considering the recent outcome. Also forgot you were in Cali so I understand the sensitivity to it.

So, if you charge a Tesla withe diesel generator.... is the car now a Hybrid?

personally I still find appeal in Tesla or just battery powered car in general. The wife and I are shopping for land to build on now and the goal with the build is solar power for the home with battery storage back up, and if we do that I’ll likely scoop up a Tesla to handle my 100 mile round trip commute.

it may not be the most green for the world but over time it’ll keep green in my pocket

Dont get me wrong, Tesla has its place. But environmentally friendly and "green" it is not.

I don't know what a cheap Tesla goes for, but I bet it would buy a lot of gas. If you really want to put green in your pocket get a used Honda Civic or something else for less than $20k that gets 30+ mpg.

depends what model you’re looking at. But around 40k and then up to 100k.

Me personally I’ve done the cheap beater thing, I spend a lot of time in my car, I want comfort. Also I want driving aids, I use adaptive cruise every day in my ram.

Then on the flipside there are people like me that want none of that shit in my own personal car/truck. I dont need or want aids. My own two eyeballs and the noodle in between them are all I need. I get the feeling Im not alone either.

Like Tesla, they have their place in my opinion. Problem is I think that too many people get these cars with these "aids" and see them as a safety net. Instead of treating them as an enhancement to work WITH proper driving skills and alertness, they see them as a replacement for their need to be alert and drive with their full attention to driving.

Too many people with their ****ing faces in their phones as it is, and this makes it worse.

I completely get that, I run a collision repair shop and many times I get people that are like I don’t get it my crash aid didn’t stop me.

there have been plenty of times my truck doesn’t mitigate a given braking situation correct. It’s still nice to have the cruise in my morning traffic as my ride is 50 miles mostly down the same highway so it’s boring.

CA is so ****ed man, it's unbelievable. The bugs have DESTROYED the trees, making them dry and incredibly flammable. My grandfather lives in the mountains and he says it's getting worse every year (he is currently cut off from power). The fires are so bad right now our cars are covered in ASH and I am hundreds of miles away. It is literally unhealthy to walk outside for 30 minutes. And now PGE is shutting down power to "protect" and "prevent" the fires. No, that's not going to protect anything. The dryness and the beetles have ****ED the mountains. The cut trees just lying on the ground, waiting to catch a cigarette or some dumb **** setting a camp fire. Meanwhile the governor butt ****ing us for every little tax known to man. The homeless taking over. Anyway .....pretty off topic. Just letting you know the truth, and my true hate for this state. Few more months and I'm outta here.
