Polishing exhaust progression

Taking my time 1 pipe at atime, up to 800 grit and really starting to transform! What a PITA to do, but im sure ill be happy in the spring!!

No 100 grit block, i might get one for next pipe, but didnt really need it, the 100 took off all the finish with a little elbow grease

Thanks...after what grit did you start polishing? Is there a certain sheen yoi see that tells you your ready? Gonna do 1000, 1250, 1500,2000 then 2500

This all sounds like money!!!! :rockon: .... you'll be very happy!

In my opinion you will have great results running thru the grits 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 thus eliminating 1250. Great work so far wax polish do you plan on using? I suggest you finishing with Adams 1 and 2. I went from Mothers and love that product!

I have done this twice. After I got done the first exhaust I swore I would never do another one. A couple of years later I bought a new catback and decided to polished that one also. I guess over that time period I forgot what a major pita it was. I couldn't be happier with the results though. It makes such a big difference. Keep up the good work. It is looking great!

I started polishing after 2000 grit. It wont hurt to use the 1250 like you plan, but, imo, it is an unnecessary step. The 1500 will pull out the 1000 grit scratches.

Looks great, and yeah it's a PITA. My arms and fingers hated me for a few days after I finished mine.

Wow, what a difference. When you finish and get them installed, you're going to be VERY happy with the appearance. Polishing the exhaust system is work, but the reward is worth it IMO.
