I have updated the original post with an initial group buy discount price which is subject to change (although its a good ballpark figure which shouldn't change much). More information to come later.

Here's an explanation for the increased price of these wheels.

Hi Robbie,

The set that you gave me the link to was an error. We have been out of
stock of those wheels for ages, and that reflected pricing from over two
years ago. I think a recent update of inventory caused this to show up
again as available, which in fact it was not. We have never updated the
pricing on the web site, since they have been out of stock for so long.
Sorry about the confusion.

Since then as many know, somewhere in the vicinity of 75% of the wheel
plants have closed down and are now out of business. To get these
wheels back in production required having new molds made, moving to a
new plant, and renegotiating pricing. Many of the production, shipping,
and import costs have increased over the years.

The example you gave me was the change on the 17" combo set. The price
on our "price sheet" dated 03/23/07 was $745.00. The new pricing at
$795.00 is less than a 7% increase. I am actually quite pleased to be
able to get them back into production with all the increased expenses.
Our profit margin is much less than before, and even lower after the
discount we have offered to the forum members.

Hope that helps clarify it.

Its not like they are CCW's. These are stock looking wheels just a little bigger and wider. I don't why people care so much why everyone wants a set when this is the way they should have came from the factory. Go get a set of custom wheels if your worried so much that other people on a forum have the same wheels as you when they live 1500 miles away.

The wheels from the factory are 17 x 9. Are these AFS wheels deep dish or something special in appearance or are owners in need of replacements?

I bet half the people on here are just shopping. Sure they are a wheel that is wanted, but how many people are going to buy them.

If they can get the price down to about $800 (18x9/18x10.5 Chrome) then ya it would be worth while to get, but for $1200 no way. You can get a decent set of Chrome 18x9/10.5 wheels from American Muscle for around $800 and that includes free shipping.

Just my .02 on this. I know if I had the money, I would buy a set.
