Got everything installed and working flawlessly. Went with the DNX690HD with the v200 XM tuner. I managed to get everything for under $1100 new off ebay and amazon so I am very happy. Only 1 thing held up my install, which was the brackets included in the mus1 kit to bolt in the radio. Looked to me like I got two right side brackets instead of a left and right so I had to do some cutting on the bracket to make it work on the left side. Anybody else have that issue? Either that or i am dumb and couldn't figure out how to make it work without modification.

You dnn990 guys are gonna be pissed when they release the 991. Y'all may want to sell yours now while you can! Played with a 991 at ken wood training at work Thursday day night... It is barely comparable to the 990. It runs so smooth, it does iphone AND android mirroring, the bluetooth is so much better... I'm all in for one
It will only mirror certain apps, correct?
Android has full mirror and access using the touchscreen actually.. iOS has full home screen mirror but iOS won't allow the touchscreen access to the dnn
All the new Dnn/dnx products offer full mirroring of Apple and android products. Android must support mhl which is most of the available phones now. Mid summer software will allow full control of 95% do android applications and a handful of iOS apps. But you can still start and control from the device if control isn't supported. 2014 will support output of turn by turn directions on the secondary screen and more text information to the ads kits.

I will be installing my DNX690 with this kit next week. FYI there is a new Firmware update posted on the Kenwood site, released on 4/3.
I really want some more information on the functionality of that new x008-u. I can't make myself pull the trigger until I have a little better idea of what to expect from it.
Apparently, it doesn't fit anyway.
So if I have read correctly, this dash kit and a compatible deck could function as a similar set up to aeroforce gauges?

For 2014 both Alpine and Pioneer have announced serial ports to communicate with Maestro. However, what they offer differs a bit.
Alpine:
Fully compatible: 2014 Navigation models - INE-W957HD, X008U, X009U - however, 8 and 9 inch models don't fit our dash kit.
Pioneer: Pioneer will need firmware update of radio after launch to work with Maestro.
Mostly Compatible: 2014 NEX models – AVIC-8000NEX, AVIC-7000NEX, AVIC-6000NEX, AVIC-5000NEX, AVH-4000NEX. These units will be compatible with all of our solutions, but they do not have gauges, climate control (so you can't use a Pioneer with our MUS1 dash kit), vehicle info or parking assist screens.

Through July 4th. I'm asking about trades as well. For those that purchased their first deals they are entertaining the idea of trading the old unit in on the new ones. I'm thinking it may be cheaper to sell it though, but I'll see what they come up with on trade values.
So the X008U won't fit the MUS1 kit? Since its 8"? INEW957HD is 7" so that should be ok
