I am going to be starting my order for my longtube/tubular K install in March. I will be using MAC LT's, my question is which midpipe is best? How much louder is the X compared to prochamber? Right now I am just running a Borla catback.

Thanks in advance.

I say it depends. If your going to run a "straight through" muffler like my magna packs or slp lm mufflers.. run a pro chamber.

If your going to run oval mufflers.. run the X pipe. If you run an X pipe and mufflers like my magnapacks you will be raspy as hell.. and it sounds like crap!

Like the the more modern racey sound of the x pipe, but its a personal preference. The prochambers give a really nice old school muscular sound though. Cant really go wrong either way.

I agree. I think the prochamber makes the "old school muscular sound" when you run a chambered muffler like flowmasters, macs ect. I have actually wondering lately how a prochamber would sound with my mac lt's and slp lm2 catback.

As far as performance, I doubt you'll see much of a difference between either setup. It's really a personal preference issue regarding exhaust note. Time to hit up youtube, and listen to some clips.

Thanks for all of the reviews so far, looks like the prochamber is highly favored in the poll so far. I have listened to both on youtube but that really doesn't help much. Just wanted to hear personal preferences.

I've had a Bassani X pipe w/cats and Bassani cat-back....raspy with some drone at 1800-2000 rpm. I thought it sounded somewhat "european". I currently have a Mac OR/Prochamber with Borla Stingers. Its a much deeper sound. Of the two, I prefer the OR/Prochamber - Stinger setup.

It should! There's a very distinct tonal difference between the two styles of crossovers.

Not many videos, if any of the 03 cobras with MAC LT's Prochamber and Stingers. A lot of the other hand with Mac LT's and O/R X combo. Which is louder do you think? Or are they going to be relatively close.

Any 4v car is going to sound very similar. Not excluding earlier 4v cars might give you more hits.

Louder is kinda non-descriptive. I think the cruise drone is louder on the x, but max WOT volume is roughly the same.

I am telling you...if you order an o/r x-pipe you will be spending another $275 in the future to trade it out for a ProChamber. Sounds better, deeper, and no drone.

Decision made, prochamber. Thanks fellas. Is there some kind of coating or wax I can use before install to cover headers to help extend life of finish. Was planning on colinite 845 or mothers metal polish.
