I need to learn how to sharpen to the utmost capabilities now too! What equipment and techniques are recommended by all of you knife connoisseurs...
The spyderco sharpmaker is great for starters, but nothing replaces a good set of water stones and learning to sharpen 'freehand'.
I'd recommend a 400 grit, 800 grit, 2000 grit and finish it off w/a leather belt stropping.

Jericoh Hogbody Mk IV, he classifies this as a small knife. 1/4" 1095, it's a chunk.
