We went to SF last time I was up in norcal in July to see Daniel Tosh. It made me realize how much better of a city San Diego is. If a building in SD sucks or is falling apart, they rip that shit down and put a beautiful, steel clad building in its place. SF? Nah, we keep it, gut the insides, and build twice as many residences inside with half the footage, even if its laden with asbestos and bum turds from the steam age and crumbling on the outside, it adds character! **** that.

I've hear that "SF has character" term often. I laugh in their face everytime. Bum piss/graffiti and buildings that are falling apart isn't "character", Its just old as **** and needs to be rebuilt. SF is by far the most overrated place in the country.

Not interested in buying another house for awhile as I don't really know what I want to do location wise. I moved back beside the house I use to own. Now I am renting and I pay $1,200 a month for a 2 story brick/vynl colonial style house with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, attached garage, shed, and a bunch of extra rooms like bonus/sitting rooms and formal living and dinning rooms (that are still empty almost 2 years later... LOL), family room, breakfast nook, etc. Has a full covered front porch and a large deck off the back. Can't beat it for the price. I do have to commute 50 minutes to work, but not really any traffic.

I didn't really move here for the house but for the location and it's a great neighborhood. I watched the house I rent now being built when I owned the house beside it back in 2007/08. I actually stole some weather stripping from the door which is now my garage door when my dog chewed up the weather stripping around my other door. They were still building this house and i snuck in late at night and pulled it off and did the ol swap... I just remembered this a few weeks ago.

I only went out there probably 2 times and it seemed quiet but I can also see how it could be bad.

It's the center city around the court that is really bad and Baypoint makes it a bad experience too.

Yeah, the city has major problems in the lower income areas. If you're mega rich then you don't have to worry much about the stuff you talk about.

I hardly ever go to the city. It's always cold and windy and too damn expensive.

1525 a month for a 4 bedroom/2.5 bath house with a 2 car garage. We are closing on our new house though and my landlord said the rest is about to go to 1700 to be in line with the market here.
I couldn't tell you what my utilities run, I don't pay attention, my wife does the bills.

Is Marysville pretty pricey compared to the rest of the market? We've been looking at it because it seems like another one of those semi -untouched areas in the vicinity of Seattle that's going to become very popular for those looking to get out of the city.

Thanks for the input guys, we just found the place we want. Spending more than I would like but it's in a great location. $800 a month one bedroom, cable/HBO included, we opted to pay the little extra for the unit that includes washer dryer in unit, and a fireplace. It's located in the Pineville area (nicer sub-city of charlotte), but we managed to find a place 3 miles from work.

No, I know when it came to house shopping, Marysville and Arlington were 50-100k cheaper for a comparable house than say Lynnwood or Woodinville.

I dont pay rent My stuff is paid for with a small second mortgage on my house I use to float money to buy things to resell. But I do have a 2nd house that my sister and I rent to my daughters boyfriend it is 2/3 bedrooms 2 stories with a half unfinished basement on 7 acres in the country in the eastern panhandle of WV 35mins. from Northern Virginia he pays $800 and that is a deal. but it puts someone I know in the house and I can work on it when I want finishing up the room down stairs. the only thing he pays for is electric it has a well and septic system and I pick up the trash bill as I live on the other end of the 10 acres that they sit on. When the house is done to my liking the price is gone up to 1100+ a month or it is gone to get sold.
By the way if someone is looking I would sell both homes and the land 10 acres with a 30X40 garage in the country one way in one way out. closest people is the other house on the land. but not far from town and like I said Northern Virginia. 700k or a real offer, come and get it. close to race tracks road race track Summit Point, drag strip and then the Casino if you are into that stuff. lots of local rivers to fish also. lots of hunting room also if you get permission from the local farmers but you can shoot deer off my front porch if you want or walk in your birthday suit with out people saying anything lol. There is also a very big car scene here. Why would I want to move I am gone South no snow and warmer weather.
