Try swapping WG springs. Put an 11 psi spring in and see what happens.

I think I should try that out before making a run with no WG. Like 92fiveohfox said, it is indeed dangerous.
I was thinking maybe the rate on this gauge is too slow to pick up so I planned on getting a manual gauge. But others have posted that they're using the same gauge and seeing the intended pressure.

Im guessing there's no way Tial mislabeled/mispainted the springs?

If you put in the 11 psi spring and your boost goes up 1 pound, I would assume the gauge is off for whatever reason.

That actually did happen before I put the carbinite pulley in. I was at 7.7-8psi with the 9.7 springs and 9.2 with the 11.6 springs. I'll be damned if this thing was working all along but my gauge was too slow to pick up.

^^ lol.

thats why i asked HOW DOES SHE FEEL??

toss a mechanical gauge on it to verify

I was trying to find a gauge pod, like a steering column pod as I don't like the pillar mounts, to place a mechanical boost gauge. Can't find any. I don't want to purchase one just to test it out. I'd like to keep it.

EDIT. I think I found a mount on AM. As for the gauge, are there any mechanical gauges with a peak indicator?

I believe OP is on a Vortech V 3 setup. So a 3.33 with no WG is not to bad. It's Kind of like running a Paxton with a 3.53 pulley... Although they don't make one. But. A lot of people run a Paxton with a 3.48 with no WG.

I changed out to the 11.6 springs and put the WG back on. Just in case. Ordered the Roush mechanical boost gauge and it should be here tomorrow. Here's a shot of the dust I took today. This is after about 40 miles but no WOT passes. Just normal driving.

can you like circle dust? i don't really see much or am i looking in the wrong place?

looks decent no?

If you look right in the middle of that pic, there's an indent. That's where most of the dust accumulates. It doesn't look bad at all but its still too early.

I installed the boost gauge, cleaned the back of the blower and the belt, and finally got around to make a run. Made 2 runs, had a brief run with a Porsche GT3, and some semi-runs here and there.

Here's what I got what from the aeroforce recorder after the change to 11.6 springs:

4645 - 4.5
4742-5.0
4846-4.9
4991-5.1
5095-5.3
5215-5.5
5339-5.8
5460 -6.2
5572-5.9
5690-6.9
5813-7.0
5954-7.5
6082-7.8
6183-8.1
6313-8.6
6443-8.2
6550-8.5
6613-8.5
6738-9.0
6846-8.9

5747-6.4
5813-6.6
5873-7.1
6002-7.8
6067-8.0
6041-8.3
6198-7.8
6234-7.9
6273-8.3
6361-8.5
6429-8.3
6487-8.7
6538-8.3
6581-8.8
6666-8.7
6720-9.2
6762-9.1
6896-8.9

And this a video of the boost gauge. It's really crappy but it shows it goes up to at least 10 psi.

Looks about right. Vortech V3 with a 3.33 pulley shifting at 6800-6900. No slip. You just need a smaller pulley if you want more boost. And take that damn wastage off, its not doing anything with that pulley. Maybe a 3.15 HT is what you need.

I was trying to have the torque booster kit work the way it's supposed to. Reaching 9.7 or 11.6 by around 6200-6500 and holding it until shift. I changed to the 11.6 springs to see if my peak boost goes up and it seems to do that. This has been the case even before the carbinite pulley. Will take off the WG this time and see how it does. I was afraid to run it without the WG since normally the 3.33 pulley should put my peak boost at 12-14 and I don't want to put that much pressure on my stock motor. I've run out of possibilities and gonna have to accept that my car is a one-off. I got a mechanical boost gauge to eliminate the possibility of an inaccurate gauge, got a carbinite pulley and changed up belts to eliminate the possibility of belt slip, and done a leak test to make sure it's not a boost leak.

Maybe a Paxton will see around 12-13 on a 3.33 pulley, depends how high he spins the motor too. But have a Vortech V3 just like yours and I run a 2.85HT pulley. I think I'm getting about 14 - 15 psi at around 7300 7500. I use a mechanical gauge so it goes by fast. Maybe get a 3.15 High Traction pulley and then you can use your WG. Do you have access to a dyno?

I'm shifting at around 7100-7200 and I think the video shows the needle going just slightly past 10psi. If you're getting 14-15 on a 2.85 then i may be getting the right peak pressure. I'll report back once I make run without the WG. Don't have access to a dyno but I really haven't looked into it.

A v3 with the 3.33 should make around 11-12 psi at redline.... 13-14 for the Paxton.

I think you're good now

Maybe true at redline...7800. but your right. At 6800 ish. 9 psi is not bad. Data log that boost to 7500-7600 and see what it's making. My V3 with a 6 rib 3.125 pulley made 13 psi on the dyno at redline. 745 hp. Sae.
