Well, I've been driving it like I stole it. I had a few things left to do: reinstall the hood shocks, reinstall the stereo system (aftermarket), and last thing was put the Cobra letters back on. You'll notice the drivers side door panel looks a little off, its the old panel the replacement is still on its way. I had a bit of anxiety, even if the one criminal is in jail. I'll have the car at my house, parked behind the fence and monitored by camera for the next few days. Then, it will be taken to a friends house for about six months, while I plan and construct the garage.

Thanks to all who were interested in this little saga. I'm saddened that so many people lose their cars each day. If I had not spent the last four months going through a theft, a repaint, an accident, and another theft -- all with relatively positive results -- I never would have believed it. The car is better than ever, and from now on it will be garage kept. Hopefully the market will die down for this car and the thieves will move onto something else. This truly is a great Independence Day for me. Have a Happy 4th everyone! :rolling:

I'll keep the thread updated with the latest on the conviction.

Crazy story, just read the whole thread. Glad you got the car back. My gf had her car stolen twice in Baltimore and both times they found it, just local crack heads that would steal it till the battery died and then leave it. It was a convertible, so easy to break into. After this thread, I think LoJack sales are going to go up for Cobra owners.

Gotta some pretty positive news. Car drives and looks great. Garage plans are coming along nicely. I have a few minor things to have the body shop fix, and Lojack came back with better than expected pricing so I'll be upgrading to the Early Warning System which is a whole different unit and for another $99 will warranty it for ten years.

Sold!

I install the Guidepoint GPS sytems for dealerships and companies that want to track their employees. Just had a 2008 Roush Stage 3 returned to its owner undamaged. They broke into his house while they were at work and found the keys. Cops got them pronto and they were arrested. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over lol. Glad you are back to whole again.

So to top it all off, the per is going to go to trial on my birthday =) I got a standby notice in case I need to testify ( I won't ) and the scumbag will probably plead before they contact me. Anyhow, I'll let you guys (and gals) know what happens to the Cobra thief!

After reading all of this I'm happy that you recovered your Cobra. When I get mine I'm totally installing Lojack. Hell, I'm almost tempted to install it on my SVTF.

I hate car theives...jail time is too nice to them. I'm thinking chain gang in Alaska.

Can't wait to hear how many decades behind bars this dude gets.

Great Thread...I have a 99 but with mods that the insurance company would never cover if stolen....LoJack may be the way to go.

Makes me sick looking at that car and thinking about a bunch of scum bags ripping the car apart, like theyre fuc*ing entitled to it or some shi*. Maybe back in your motherland thats how shi* works and its just life but not here fuc*tard. Hope some sodomite in prison tears him up in the showers real good.

ive always wanted to install a no start tune on my L and Cobra so if someone broke in and stole the keys from the key rack in my house. I would be at a total loss with my truck being in deep as I am in it now.

all that money put into alarms, lowjack, you name it...

you could probably have just made a homeade fuel cutoff switch and hidden it somewhere in the car for $50.00

im sorry about your car dude

a fuel cutoff is worthless if they tow it. and a tow truck pulling up to a car is not something that would arouse much suspicion. It is also worthless to the cops if you car does get stolen. LoJack while not the end all is probably the best peace of mind that money can buy at the moment. It works and thieves pretty much have to tear the car apart looking for it because they don't put them in the same place all the time.
