I got an 07 (loaded 4 door long bed with topper lol) and have loved it since day one. Only mod's are CAI and a handheld X-Cal for gas mileage. Pull my heavy Vert on a 18' dovetail perfectly fine. You just can't go 80mph like the Super Duty's. Other than that it pulls it very easily and I drove it from Louisville to Maryland through the Mountains with zero problems.

I have a 2005 with the 5.4 that just turned 60K without any issues. It's no diesel but gets the job done the 5-8 times a year I tow with it.

I've always owned F150's and have owned a 05 XLT and currently own a roushcharged 08 XLT with about 20K miles. If you have any questions let me know, I know more about almost every model truck than my own cobra, ha.

looks real good, I see it has a aftermarket head unit in there and Pioneer is always a good pic. I've never been a fan of the 4.6l but if you got a good price rock on!

i just sold my 04 FX4 4 door, 72k miles, $1700 in offroad wheels/tires. $13250.

Congrats on the purchase. Loved mine and it never gave me any problems

why not buy an older model? '01-'03 supercrews look sweet. better than the box style of the newer F150's '04 and up. mine has a 4.6 with bolt ons and tows 3,000lbs of lawn equipment no problem. mine has 202K miles btw

best of all is you can pick them up cheap, $8K and below. i got mine for a sweet deal

the 4.6l is alright in those trucks. I owned two 4.2l and my 08 is a 5.4l. The 4.2l and 4.6l are not that different in power but then again I'm not sure if the 4.2l even comes in a supercab 05+, they did in my old 97 but I think the only way you can get a cab now is by getting a V8. The key to those trucks is the gear ratio, I drove a 05 4.2l with 3.08's which I wasn't used to and almost caused a accident on the freeway. I ended up buying one with 3.55's and it made a huge difference. You know what your gear ratio is OP?

Ford should set it up likes this if they haven't already:

4.2L = reg cab option only
4.6L = reg cab or supercab option
5.4L = reg cab, supercab and supercrew option

Anything else and you'll be using the motor to haul the weight of the truck itself around instead of any cargo.

i would love to put a blower on my 4.6 reg cab (or better yet just put in a regular lightning engine) actually tho i dont think there are too many options for f150 4.6 blowers. prolly a mustang one could be made to work

i know for my 4.6 F150 there is a vortech kit made for it and the 5.4.

Got a 04 F-150 myself with 78K,and the only problems i`ve had is both front power window regulators had to be changed.

I would have went with the 5.4L. the 4.6L isn't really all that great or impressive for towing.

And you said your 20 year's old but your profile says 21, which is it?

Must be nice to have money like that at 20, when I am 19 and could barely make ends meet. with what I have now, and it ain't even a ford for that matter.
