Are they treated differently at Ford?
They are from Ford Racing and have seals on them in MISC places.
Saw one at PRI in the Ford Racing both last year.

Nobody really know because nobody has taken one apart because if you do then its no longer sealed. Also the calibration is far from a stock calibration so there is plenty to be had there as well.
JPC's car is running that well due to several factors and one of them is testing along with attention to detail.
We are building a CS car for next year and look forward to runing our 86 Fox in the class.
As far as the rest of this debate goes I say congrats to the OP. To everyone else chasing my 10.88, I look forward to whoever eclipses our mark first and hope that a complete and open discussion about what it took to beat our 10.88 can be had with weight and everything taken into consideration so the public is given all the info they deserve. I do have a feeling that someone in Texas will do it first. oke:

What was the DA and weather conditions on the 10.88 run?
It's funny how these 2 make there way into every single AED thread.
JPC ran 10.86 @ 123.89 MPH with a stock 5.0 and a JLT CAI last week in Ohio. Now that's some MPH!
And, yeah, once you get an auto dialed in it is pretty much a mash the pedal and go experience. With an electronically controlled trans it is even more effective since you can program shift points, line pressures, converter lockup, etc.
What a pretentious and presumptuous response.

What a mindless and imbecilic response. Drag your shit to Houston and prove how bad ass it is.
I don't belong to the NMRA, don't want to join the NMRA
don't want to make my car tech legal for one of their events and don't know exactly how we are even supposed to manage this big showdown.
As my user title suggests, I have asked for my account to be deleted on more than one occasion. They fail to do so.
I don't either. I don't think you have to join for this non points race. If they do want that, I'll just enter a bracket class, I will not pay them a membership.
Translation: I don't want to add the weight of the required safety equipment like you guys already have, that would put me ever farther behind. :burn:
I have a solution for settling this tuning discussion:
Have someone donate their car (to be determined auto or stick)
Have WBT and KDanner meet at a track of their choice with the owner and his car and TUNE it to the best of their ability. Doesn't really matter how fast it goes.
Then have shaun remote tune (unless he wants to attend the race) that same day.
AND SEE WHO'S TUNE IS FASTEST !
Atleast we can settle the tuning aspect of this dilema.
What are everyone's thoughts.
S
Well, that is going to raise all kinds of issues. Tuning to win and tuning to live are two totally different things.
Plus, to make it even, the car should be an auto. Kris is the auto specialist, and Shaun has spent more effort on the M6 cars. Of course, you also have the aspect of whether the driver/owner is truly a neutral party....tough comparo.

What was the DA and weather conditions on the 10.88 run?
Dragtimes doesnt list it but it was excellent conditions. Most likely 800ft and 55* or so.
Of course the 1.48 60ft didnt hurt either.

I hand calculate it to be in the ballpark of -900

a quick google search shows that the temps in rising sun, md on 12/10/11 was a high of 47 degrees and a low of 33. Just plugging in 40 degrees, 30", and 50% humidity comes up with a DA of almost -1000. Typical for Cecil that time of year.
