Keep up the good work. Bet that was a pita getting out thru the bottom on stands. But I can see why I'd be paranoid about that beautiful paint too.

I thought the A/C compressor had to be disconnected from the system to pull from the bottom?

So I've been pretty busy with the car. After pulling the motor to get the cams degreed, I dropped it off at the shop. Got some unfortunate news.

Turns out the cams were way off.. not exactly sure what caused the issues, but I had some scoring in the journals. They probably could have been repaired, but I elected to go ahead and upgrade to the DC cast heads. Sent the cams out to bullet racing to have them check, and thankfully they were good to go.

Heads were cleaned, valve job, decked, springs lifters cams ect ect checked and used in the new heads.

This came at the cost of selling my TF wheels. I picked up some series 2s in chrome for the time being. (305/35 Street S/S)

Also took this opportunity to do head studs. Went with ARP 2000s for peace of mind. Also a Moroso oil pan and GT500 windage tray were added. I had to dimple the headers to get them to clear.

Powder coated the timing cover, pulley bridge and valve covers wrinkle black. Decided I didn't like the powered by ford cop covers, so I picked up some Powered by SVT.

Tranny mounted and ready to go in. You can see my set up in this picture. I used the engine hoist and ratchet strap to lift the car up about another foot. Then slid the motor back in from the passenger side.

Damn, almost a mirror image of what i'm doing to mine except you have a whipple and cams lol I had my valve covers powder coated ford blue as well as the svt letters on the powered by svt coil covers. I'll be painting the timing cover and the rest of the coil cover wrinkle black after i get the motor back.

Question time: Where did you end up picking up the DC heads? Who did the work? Did you go with lethal's TOB sleeve? How difficult was it install it?

Keep it up, man! Looks like you're going have your cobra running before mine haha I'm going to have to live vicariously through you in the meantime

I found the heads off a guy on NA SVT's Facebook group, they were in great shape and I only paid 550 shipped.

I had the heads gone through at a local shop. Horsepower by Hedrick.

And yes the lethal sleeve was used. New pilot bearing and throw out bearing.

Can't wait to see you up and running aswell!!

Made some more progress today.

Picked up a PSR racing kmember for when I had the sonic blue cobra, I thought about selling it but ended up using it.

Got new steeda ball joints put in the control arms today. All new bushings from energy suspense.

Routed some fuel line in the the passenger side wheel well. I had to order two more fittings to finish up the rear.

Also did a wire tuck awhile ago while I was waiting for the motor to get back. Battery re location and all. Turned out really good. I'll do rod panels eventually, but I'm running out of funds.

I'll post more pictures when I get on the computer.

That's a nice list of mods. Congrats on finally getting her done and ready to drive. The joy you're going to feel driving her will make it all worth it.
