I think it's a little easier than what it sounds like in this thread, but there's no doubt it's a challenge and its going to cost you a lot more than the mods you already have. Buddy of mine broke a magnum t56 twice chasing 8's. He only got down to 9.0's before going with a bigger build.
To me reading through the comments it sounds like he should give up before even starting. I know it's not what anybody means it just sounds that way.I think we laid it out pretty damn close.

This engine combo is stout, and power is thankfully the easy part, but any heavy manual trans package is HARD on parts.

I saw your other thread inquiring about blower choices. Sounded like you were pretty much settled on the VMP, and your post above cements it. Keep us posted on your 8.8 quest.
I wanna say all he did was replace the broken parts so he could get back to the track. I think he broke the input shaft once and lost 4th gear the second time. He did send it out to have it built stronger for the new build, but I don't know where he sent it. Car has been down for over a year.Who built his Magnum trans?
On the high power builds I’ve been told I need a circulation pump to keep the input shaft lubed.
