Will do! Aim High right!?

8s might not happen but it’ll be fun to chase it! Hopefully nothing breaks in the process!

I’ll be selling the ‘top end’ off my car.
By that I mean fully ported/welded lower intake with KB Bigun cooler upgrade (and unused nitrous spray bars), VMP Gen 3, big TB (2 choices) and biggest CAI (also 2 choices).
It’s been 9.55@154 at 4050# full weight 2014 with only a 1.55 60’
Shoot me a PM if you want to discuss further, even just ideas not parts, but the key to 8s with an s197 GT500 manual trans is focusing on light weighting and/or huge power.
Also the 6R80 is an impressive auto, and I’m sure my 9.55 would be a 8.95 if I did the auto swap.
My Foxbody LX is getting a turbo Coyote 6R build currently. 1200rwhp and 3000# sounds like a blast.

So how do we get there boys? Present mods are in the sig.
Like you OP, I love my GT500 and dont want to sale it. But... if its all about the numbers like you seem to be, a later model S550 with the twin turbo set up on the coyote is “relatively” cheaper to build to get the 1,100-1,250 hp you will probably need to go 8’s. Then start chopping weight. Good luck for sure, but its a hard line to get near 8’s and have reliability!
