It will be like Venezuela where they bought all of the fishermen new boats. The fishermen sold the boats and quit working and the fishing industry collapsed.
Or Africa where the government forced the farmers to leave their land and hand the land over to non farmers, and the farming industry died. Has happened in 2 countries so far.

The economic impact of those decisions in South Africa pale in comparison to the absolute dismantling of human civil rights those decisions caused.

Funny you fail to mention any of that or WHY the land was handed over to “non farmers”.

**** that. I could barely handle 1, much less 5.

When the durka durkas would tell us that one wife was no good and many wives was good I’d tell them to wait until we freedomed them and their bitches became westernized.

ugh, good lord, where does it end? Sounds like a trial run of this universal income shit.
It does, doesn't it. That and all the commercials and hype about "in home" schooling for children I've been seeing on TV and in the news, and the recognition of people in all walks of life working and doing new things at home makes me squint and see a future where a large percentage of the population stays home with their children and collects a monthly living expense payment. Kids are schooled from home using special education software allowing interaction with teachers (who teach from their homes). And a small percentage of "workers" provide for the manufacture and supply of commodities needed for daily living. Yeah, I know, it sounds like science fiction, but.....

The government is genius. If they convince the people that we NEED them in order to survive, then we will continue to put the Socialist leaning, dumb mfers, back in office.

Giving away money sounds great at face value, but the short term and ESPECIALLY long term negative consequences will be out of this world.

The $2,000 a month would just raise the bench level $2,000. For instance if a guy that makes $36,000 a year buys a $120k home...now he'll be making $60k a year, and a home just like his will sell for $200k. This is NOT the answer.

100000000x this.

A better plan for the next pandemic must be devised. But, we need to get the country open again ASAP.

I'll legit quit my job and sit home and not do anything and get paid almost the same amount if this is true.

But seriously, $2,000 will have the same value as $2 now if this happens.

Do these "elected officials" even understand basic economics?

I think ppl forget how rich and powerful our country is. They could give everyone $10k a month for 6 months and it wouldn't even make a dent in our budget.

Considering I got Zero for this first stimulus package I'm down for $2k.

Do you mean for each of the estimated 330 million people? If so, that would only be 19.8 trillion dollars
