can you please explain to me how cadillac didnt go far enough? i compared the two interiors visually and besides the front and rear seats, they actually look extremely similar in layout. both car's front seat backs are carbon fiber. both have contrasting stitching (not shown in the link above), both have fancy feeling materials in places youll never actually touch. i mean i guess the rear seats look neat and the green hell track outlines are neat but neither of these cars were designed for the rear passenger anyways.

lets be honest, the real advantage the caddy has here is a lower resale value 3-4 years down the road. thatll make the car the steal of the century. for example, people already sleep on the CTS-VSport, a much better car that people think, and itll run bottom 12s with a tune only.

Personally I’ll be cross shopping this against the Benz E63s and I really don’t see where it much falls short so far. The looks are subjective but I like them enough, the major fun factor is the 6 speed trans which isn’t offered anywhere else.

I’ll be curious to see how both drive but what I don’t think will matter at least to me is their quarter mile times respective to each other as I’m sure they both feel plenty fast for some kid haulers lol

bland design, totally uninspired. the E63S and M5 are in another league, playing a different sport. im sure the 43 dudes that buy one will like it though.

Got to say I was expecting way more in regards to styling. This looks like it could be just the V sport to me which is not a good thing and I don't see this car selling well being a halo car for Cadillac. From the spy shots I was thinking it was going to have much wider looking body and more aggressive front facia, but this just looks really bland to me. It certainly will be the last of the breed.

the E63s I definitely think has much more going for it in the ascetics department. The M5 however is equally as bland a car. The exterior is really nothing more then different bumper covers vs no M cars. The interiors on BMW continue to be rather minimalist.

the E63s I agree is in a different league and the interior is far superior.

In all fairness, M cars and AMGs typically have wider bodies whether you can notice it or not. Used to get tons of 3 and 5 series owners come in with M bumpers and we would paint them and go to install after the customer told us they would fit yet they never fit. Everything from the fenders and bumper bar forward are all different. Pretty much the same for AMGs.

put a 5 series next to an M5 and the average person seeing each on the road won’t know much of a difference. It’s not like comparing a base C7 to say C7Z or ZR1.

I’m sure there are minor differences and I know what’s you’re saying about the differences as I too work in collision repair BUT it’s much less significant in this setting vs other segments likes I outlined above.

All I’m getting at is while I agree the car is a bit bland at some views it isn’t falling short of others in its segment.

this is correct. starting in the 213 generation the E63 has a "wide body". front and rear fenders, with much bigger wheel tubs.

I like it a lot. The front grill IMO is just about perfect. A more enhanced power dome hood would have better carried the muscular look to the windshield. A wider stance rear would have been nice, and would again carry the muscular look rearward. The interior of the Blackwing is AWESOME!

I'd own one in a heartbeat.

Its obvious they purposely went with a subdued look. They're trying to compete with the M5.

You guys do realize the Blackwing is a twin turbo hot V8 like the E63. Not an LT or pushrod motor.

Says they didn't use the Blackwing motor because it didn't make enough power so it has an LT4 based motor as mentioned.
