Another interesting look back. The F-150 (and other trucks) have come a long way!

These were, IMO the low point in the history of the F-series. Worse than the Uni-bodies. Weird fact, they made a F-250 in this body style for a couple of years. I almost bought one but got a W-250 Cummins with a Getrag instead.

One of those F250s was my first car when I was 16. My dad bought years before and handed down to me. It was a good truck that made it to 280k miles before I sold it.

Plenty of these still bouncin around the farms in my area. See them come in for oil changes and tune ups with 300,000 miles. Still going.

I bought this 99 f150 4x4 5.4 new and still have it. It’s been a good truck. It has 160k on it and has needed very little repair.

Dad ordered the 97 with the extended cab, I still remember getting picked up from school in it. So awesome at the time. We had a regular cab 87 before that, and we rode in the bed on two or three vacations.

It was a dog, though. I was also pretty tall early on, and didn't fit well for long in the back seat. Then it was traded for a 01 Supercrew with the 5.4. That was a great truck.

Nice looking '99 F150. It certainly has served you well over the past 23+ years.

I’m not sure I would call it a low point because GM and Dodge didn’t have anything world beating either. Sales wise the 97-03 still sold a bunch. They had the lightning and Harley models that were popular too. The 04+ f150 was so damn good in every aspect, it made the 97-03 look super outdated.
